Zusammenfassung
Reviewers say 'Family Guy' is celebrated for its irreverent humor, offbeat storytelling, and iconic characters. The show's boundary-pushing comedy and sharp social commentary resonate with many. Its rapid-fire gags and cutaway jokes maintain viewer engagement. However, the series faces criticism for inconsistent quality, with some episodes criticized for relying on shock value. The frequent use of cutaway gags can disrupt narrative flow. Despite these drawbacks, 'Family Guy' remains a significant and beloved animated sitcom.

I cannot even begin to discuss how ridiculously smart and outrageously funny is this show. Not only does this program far surpass most of the comedies on television, it has the guts to hit topics that most of the overly sensitive public shies away from. I never understood why it was taken off the air in the first place. Fox can show something as tawdry and humanly degrading as Temptation Island, but Family Guy was too racy? Riiiight.
I absolutely must comment on the incredible voice talent done for this show, most especially the amazing creator himself, Seth MacFarlane. First of all, his versatility is unlike anything I have ever heard. When I discovered how many voices he actually performed, I was floored. I am currently receiving my masters in speech pathology so I find his ability particularly interesting. Not only can he speak in these individual voices, he can sing in them, and very well I might add.
The musical numbers in this cartoon revive a dying art. The "Road" episodes are a hysterical throw back to the Crosby/Hope movies, which is a reference I usually have to explain to my friends though they often must explain a few that I miss. In fact, the scope of the references range from cheesy 80's TV to political commentary to Broadway. This is why everyone will find something funny about this show. Everyone in one form or another can relate to it.
Most of my guy friends think I should be offended by the show because I am a woman and this is a "guy's show." Let me tell you, this is not the case at all. Lois Griffin is a freakin role model. I like to think I have half of her savvy when dealing with my ignorant boyfriends.
Absolutely excellent television. Edgy, funny, intelligent and extremely creative. This show was a breath of fresh air for mundane television and will soon awaken the network again. Seth MacFarlane, you are a genius!!

I love this show so much, I love pretty much all of the characters and it's one of the funniest shows and one of the best shows I ever watched. My Favorite characters are Stewie, Peter, Brian, and Glenn Quagmire. But I also Love Chris, Lois, Meg and even Tom Tucker, Joe, and Cleveland. I'm So glad that most people in this world love this show. But also I don't understand why people hate it. I feel like the who hate this show are some of the most snowflake people ever, and they need to grow a pair of balls. I'm glad it's only a small portion of people but come on. If everyone asked me what is your favorite season of family guy I choose season 4, don't get me wrong, I love season 1, 2 , and 3 and even seasons after 4 but compared to season 1-3 it just ups the comedy even more. Some of my favorite episodes of Family Guy are from season 4, like Patriot Games, Brian Sings And Swings, North By North Quahog, Fast Time At Buddy Cianci Jr. High, Peter's got Woods, Breaking Out Is Hard To Do, etc.
I guess the only negatives I say about this show is that some episodes that have deleted scenes, I felt like they missed out great opportunities to have those scenes in the final product in those episodes, I seen some deleted scenes on YouTube and a lot of those deleted scenes are really funny and really good, And I felt like the writers should of kept those deleted scenes in the final product of the episode. Another is some episodes of the current seasons... 15-22, are very underwhelming like I read the plot of the episode and It sounds interesting and really funny when I read it but, when I watch the episode it's underwhelming and kind of disappointing to watch, there not bad episodes, it just very average. I guess that all of the negatives.
Overall, like I said in the beginning, I love this show so much and it's definitely My top 5 Best animated shows I ever watched. All of the seasons up to 15 are top notch Like 9/10, 10/10 seasons. I give this show a 9/10.

Update: What kind of episodes would I want next in 2025 now that all Hollywood writers have ascended and became A. I. that floats freely in the air ? I want Family Guy to pay hommage to every single Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager episode. One ST episode at a time per each FG episode. Real FG fans will get the extremely specific ST references. --- Would be 10 stars, had this magnificent TV show not gotten a bit repetitive after season 15 or so. Still, 100s of 10-star episodes. And incredibly ballsy. Almost all the gags punch far below the waistline. The first time you watch every episode, your jaw drops to the floor. Insane the writers go there. Then you watch it a second time. Then you recall the jokes, they cross your mind, and you can't stop laughing. Also because, why would you even say all those things that this show's characters say. "I have Stratego in my mouth." "My happy place, in case I get malested." "Punch ... the baby ... in ... the face."
This and South Park are shows that master dark comedy and satire.
It is very well written, the jokes are good and land (most of the time).
The voice actors in this show are incredible, the Griffin's voices are iconic and have their moments.
On the other hand, after season 13 it really fell apart, the episodes aren't nearly as funny and are basically the same, they barely make any Brian and Stewie episodes (which are the best episodes).
Unlike South Park, it doesn't get better with age, it isn't as culturally relevant (even when it shouldn't be) and feel boring and painfully unfunny.
Seasons 1-13: great Seasons 14-present: no, just no.

Family Guy is one of the best comedies of all-time. It's about the Griffin family (Peter, Lois, Stewie, Meg and Chris) and their talking dog Brian. I don't even know how to explain how much I absolutely love this show. It has been a laugh out loud funny show for over 20 years now. It's a crude and rude show that says all the things we wish we could say. That's what makes it so funny. It's easily one of my favorite comedies of all-time! Seth McFarlane is just an absolute genius who has done the impossible and that's make a show remain hilarious for over 2 decades now. There's not much I can say about this incredible show that hasn't already been said so just do yourself a favor and go watch it...you won't regret it.

- WissenswertesSeth MacFarlane based the voice of Peter Griffin on a security guard he knew while going to college at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
- PatzerWhen shown a quick view of Cleveland's House it is one and a half story Cape Cod house, like Peter's House. But, whenever Peter does one of his "Shenanigans' near Cleveland's house, it is a full two story, non-Cape Cod home.
- Zitate
Peter Griffin: Brian, there's a message in my Alpha Bits. It says "OOOOOO".
Brian Griffin: Peter, those are Cheerios.
- Crazy CreditsIn the new HD seasons intro, the generic dancers on the stairs are replaced by actual characters from the show.
- Alternative VersionenSome episodes air in a somewhat-edited version in their original FOX airings and syndicated airings, but air in a racier, "uncut" version on Adult Swim, with some extra scenes or alternate versions of scenes. However, Adult Swim still bleeps the most profane of language.
