Aside from half the people seeming to be in slow motion, and very sleep deprived, making it rather boring, the science is so out of date it's just embarrassing to see people talk about utter nonsense with such fervour.
Also it's really beginning to grate that at the end of every episode they say "the names of the victims have been changed to protect their identity" followed by saying they haven't changed the names of the killers.....so all anyone had to do was look up the killer and they'd get the victim's too. And why are they protecting the dead?! It's the living who needed protecting, but they didn't hide the identities of the friends, family or officers involved. And they played interview tapes, where they used the victims real names!
I honestly don't know how any crime ever got solved in Canada after watching this. But they keep going on about what amazing work everyone did, piecing together really obvious signs and evidence left by the stupidest criminals in history.
AND to bring some excitement to the mind numbing explanations, they keep playing dramatic music, like it's an episode of CSI or something. It doesn't make it any more interesting, just more irritating.
The best thing I can say about the show is that the episodes are only 20 mins, and that's only 5 mins too long for the story they had to tell.

As a child who was born in 1991, I remember when Discovery Channel Canada was actually based on knowledge and science; their series such as Forbidden Places, Exhibit A and Frontiers of Construction; these all caught and held my attention. Exhibit A was a Canadian production that was created by Robert Lang; it took a look at various cold cases and crimes that had occurred in the 80s to about 1997. Most of the stories were from Toronto and Ontario, fewer were from the rest of Canada and from the United States. For its time the acting and re-enactments were great, undertaken by alot Canadian actors.
