At last an aceptable movie of the director Walter Hugo Khouri, a prolific of the our pornochachada, a sort of mix between soft sex and humor style, the plot is plenty plausible for the brazilian patterns, a thousand of famous characters gathered in this bold project comes with several sex scenes, bearing in mind a puritan Helena Ramos, a cold Sandra Bréa, a still angelical Nicole Puzzi the most sexiest was Kate Lira in a hot dance scene in the table stolen the show in a slight appearence, here Roberto Maya a famous former newscaster has a decent performance, your pal Gonçalves is totally unknown by me, this is a real portrait of an era that went away.....

Skillfully filmed as usual in Walter Hugo Khouri's films, this sexploitation movie has many sexy stars from 70's Brazilian cinema, his recurrent bougeois lustful character Marcelo, quite mysoginous scenes in the dubious border between criticism and sadism, and a little and predictable story. Many suggested situations, that could have had interesting consequences, are not developped. Anyway, Khouri's talent and the appropriate end give the film a decent outcome.

The dentist Luciano (Serafim Gonzalez) has sex after hours with Sonia (Aldine Muller) on the dental chair. Out of the blue, his old friend Marcelo (Roberto Maya) appears in his office with a problem in one tooth, and Luciano invites him to have sex with Sonia, who is actually a call-girl. Marcelo and Luciano have not seen each other for many years, and Luciano tells that he is still married with Anita (Helena Ramos) and he loves her. Marcelo tells that he is married with Ana (Sandra Bréa) and he is bored with his second wife. In retribution, the wealthy Marcelo invites Luciano to come to his apartment to have sex with women on the next afternoon. Luciano lies to Anita and tells that he needs to go to the doctor.

On the next day, Marcelo receives the visit of his daughter while working with his secretaries Laura (Patrícia Scalvi) and Ms. Harriet (Kate Lyra). The girl asks his father to give a job to her friend Gina (Nicole Puzzi), who needs to work, and Marcelo hires her for translations. Then he meets Luciano and brings first the whore Mariana for his friend and then two other call-girls for them. Luciano arrives late at home and Anita finds his behavior strange.

On the next morning, the servant Dora tells Luciano that Anita has traveled to visit her mother. Luciano schedules another encounter with Marcelo that brings Harriet, Laura and Gina to have sex with them. However, Anita and her friend (Rossana Guessa) follow Luciano and his wife finds the truth about Marcelo's apartment and plots a revenge against her unfaithful husband.

"O Convite ao Prazer" is one of the sexiest Brazilian erotic dramas that I have ever seen, with most of the juiciest Brazilian actresses and models of the 80's: Helena Ramos, Kate Lyra, Aldine Muller, Nicole Puzzi, Rossana Ghessa, Sandra Bréa and Patrícia Scalvi, among others, are all in the top of their beauties.

Once again, the Brazilian filmmaker Walter Hugo Khouri presents characters having existential problems, with Helena Ramos performing a strong character and the two men empty, flawed and destructive sex-oriented characters. Marcelo is absolutely sordid and empty while Luciano betrays his wife, who is a piece of crumpet and loves him, without any reason but having sex. My vote is seven.
