The Smoggies

I remember watching this show over a decade ago as a child. It was educational, informative, and entertaining all at the same time. It taught kids to respect the environment while providing them laughs. That's very rare nowadays with all that crap on TV (like Pokemon & Yugi-Oh)

That being said, I'd have to say they had the coolest theme song ever. I remember it to this day.

"Smoggies, Smoggies, smoky oily greasy, Smoggies, Smoggies smoky oily greasy..."

Now this is a show I haven't seen in a "'coon's age" until I saw it on YouTube, that is. The series explains the importance of protecting the environment without being "in your face.". I really don't mind the lesson because I'm all for green too.

The show is the focus of the Suntots, an aquatic, dwarf-like people who live on islands and are led by their Princess Lila. The Suntots spend the majority of their time defending their island paradise, Coral Island, from the filthy, treasure-seeking "Smoggies," who pollute the water around the island or try to destroy their home for their own benefits. But always, the Suntots outsmart the Smoggies in their schemes. But the Smoggies would invariably hatch another scheme to steal the island's "magic coral," which the Smoggies' Emma believes will grant eternal youth.

The characters I love from the series are Princess Lila and Ralph, the little canary bird. So overall, I loved this show when it was on TV, and I still do.

I used to love this show when I was young and it doesn't disappoint when I watch it now that 'm older. The Suntots are a bit of a trolls rip-off but with names like Princess Leila and Polluto you can't go wrong. Basically The Smoggies keep trying to steal some coral from the Suntots bit of course always fail. Recommended.
