Brødrene Dal og professor Drøvels hemmelighet

This series was broadcasted on norwegian television in the 70s, together with the more impressive Brødrene Dal og spektralstenene. Although this might be only for norwegians, it has some universally understandable comedy. The episode where they imitate Robinson Crusoe, is pretty damn great. He drinks wine from this leak wooden box, and nearly all the wine is gone before he has lifted it to his mouth. Kirkvåg, Lystad and Mjøen probably enjoyed making this series.

We did not exactly invent the wheel here in Norway, but this humor is Norwegian. The guys making it, was very much inspired by Monty Python.

In this miniseries you will find a lot of abstract humor which don't make a lot of sens, but that is the humor in it.

The story is about 3 brothers who are named Gaus, Roms and Brummen Dal. Dal mean valley and Gaus, Roms and Brummen are valleys in Norway. The 3 brothers are going on an adventure to find the lost explorer Professor Drøvel who explored the unexplored area Overfloden, north for Oslo. As the story goes on there are a lot of gags happening in between the scenes. Doors in the middle of the forest, leading to towns, stores and gags.

If you are a person who like Monty Python, this is maybe something for you. Else if you are a person who needs to get the joke explained, stay away.

The movie is very funny, but it has a strange kind of humour that maybe all people don't like. The film is divided into 13 parts, all which ends with a "horror" look alike scene. Leave your mind and intellect somewhere else and watch this, you might like it.
