The bright life of a young revolutionary or a guide to the education of a hero

Drama. The film adaptation of the novel (more precisely, the part where Gavroche is told) "Les Miserables" by the famous French writer Victor Hugo. I have nothing to say for the book source, because I have not read it, but I will definitely read it, so I will evaluate the film adaptation as an independent work. And I came across this picture quite by accident, and again I did not regret that I spent time looking at this picture, which very carefully handled the great original book by Hugo. And here's my brief opinion for you - The bright life of a young revolutionary. I want to note right away that there are no flaws in the picture (because technical points do not count). Therefore, let's focus on the merits of this heroic drama.

So, here they are: 1. Scenario - the picture, as the name implies, focuses on the life and death of one of the main literary characters of the novel Les Miserables Gavroche Thenardier. His life was not easy, his father died in hard labor, so he is forced to survive on the streets of Paris. Almost all layers of French society of the first half of the nineteenth century will appear before us, and all the action takes place on the eve of revolutionary events (the June uprising of 1832). The contempt of the bourgeois and French aristocrats for the common people, and the desire of the people to defend their rights, is perfectly shown. We will meet Inspector Javert (whose fate is different from the book one), and Enjolras - the head of the revolutionary organization "Friends of the Alphabet", Bogatey Gorbo and others. It makes no sense to list all of them, because those who have read the book know them perfectly well, and those who have not read them will find out well from the picture itself. The finale of the picture is tragic, as in the original source. But it is he who makes the viewer think about a lot. Here we should also praise the young actor Nikolai Smorchkov, who perfectly coped with the role of the cocky little boy Gavroche.

    2. Revolution - the picture, taking into account its small timekeeping, was able to show us the prerequisites and the June uprising of 1832 in Paris itself, especially focusing on the common people and their lives in that turbulent and difficult time. At the same time, the aristocrats and the police are trying in every possible way to worsen this very life, bringing people to the extreme, which results in an uprising. The scenes of fighting involuntarily make ordinary Parisians respect, who with knives and frying pans rush under bullets and cannon shells. What kind of fearlessness is it necessary to have, going for such a thing, and at the same time realizing that you will definitely not get out alive? At the same time, a part of the aristocracy sympathizes with the people, showing that not all of them are bloodsuckers.

    3. Costumes and scenery - filmed in the pavilion, and it feels. Paris is quite small, but this does not negate the fact that the creators have an atmosphere of revolution. The costumes are my homage. The rags and make-up of ordinary people and the rich outfits of the aristocracy or the uniforms of gendarmes succeeded. Even now you look and believe that you are in Paris. And this is in the conditions of the thirties of the last century with their primitive technologies!

All the actors did their best, both major and minor, and the picture was a success. In theory, you can talk about this picture for a long time, but I have already told you the essence, and if you want something else, then feel free to see this picture. Yes, now it does not look as impressive as in the year of release, but this will not be noted by the fact that this picture turned out to be deep, with meaning and a clear message. They don't do that anymore. After all, where else will you find out that there was a large statue of an Elephant on Bastille Square until 1846, the idea of which was submitted by Napoleon the First Bonaparte himself?

My rating is 9 out of 10 and my recommendation for viewing!
