Veteran porn director Stuart Canterbury does a fine job with "Groupies", a title that suggests stereotyped rock stars having sex with underage-looking fans, but instead turns out to be a lesbian feature. Its charm is subverting many of the expected cliches.
Taylor Wane plays the manager of a group named The Pistons, and her job is to keep the band safe. Enter a pair of serious groupies: Cameo and Summer Knight, who compare notes and have lesbian sex after they sneak into the hotel where the group's staying. Arriving later is Alexandria Quinn, a famous kiss & tell writer who specializes in exposing celebrities she's slept with and is definitely persona non grata as far as protective Taylor is concerned. An amusing in-joke has Summer chatting about the writer, noting that "She slept with Mick, Keith, Bruce and Michael", an amusing bit of name-dropping that certainly hasn't dated 30 years later.
Rounding out the cast is Dominique Simone, head of hotel security and working with Taylor. Various Sapphic combinations of the girls provide five hot sex scenes including a four-way.
Quinn gets no screen credit, probably due to her scandal the year before of being exposed as performing in dozens of porn videos while underage (a la Traci Lords several years before). Also uncredited is a cameo role for Jerry Butler as the hotel's front desk clerk.
