Draghoula

You gotta be terminally rich or without alternatives to spend your money or time on this bomb. The plot, in a few sentences: Mother-pecked lab-worker gets needed rats from vampiress, who realizes that her choice of him to join her was mistake. Another character is to assure adherence to new, financial constraints on - but also to assist in - lab. This female develops crush on - but notices personality change in - rodent-procurer. Mom blames that on bean-counter. Both gals want to help the guy: girlfriend develops an antidote; ma eventually enlists assistance of lady who knows about bloodsuckers. Does Mr.-Bad-Choice get done in? Or saved by anybody? Sorry - that's the best I can do to make you care. It may be asking too much that stories that rely a lot on fantasy, contain reality with respect to some things. But I found the lack of follow-up after the many victims, to be distractingly unreal. I did, however, regard the elements of androgyny (or more), and vampirism differing according to religion, to be content that I had not previously experienced.

Don't expect to take it seriously. If you want a B-movie that you can laugh at, this is one of the best I've ever seen. It's a little slow to get going, but once the main character becomes Draghoula and starts cross dressing (badly), things really get going. The way he chases down his victims is absolutely brilliant in its horror. I haven't laughed that hard in ages. I'd be scared too, if that guy was chasing me!

There's this one scene in front of a church....well, you'll know it when you see it. The actress who plays Sabrina is either a horrible actress, or a genius who is able to act like a horrible actress. If you're the kind of person who likes B-movies, that should just add to the film's charm. Then there's a chase scene around (yes around) a car that's pretty brilliant, and the final scene is almost Shakespearean in its ridiculously.

All in all I'd say that this one is definitely a keeper.
