Taxi Girls

The original had a terrific fisting scene in the jail (I believe of Nancy Suiter). But when I found a copy for sale a few years ago the scene was edited down so the fisting was missing.

(Fisting was taboo in the 90's for unknown reasons but some (very few) current flicks now have it.)

And the best part was that the sex appeared to be real and the actors very much into each other and not the camera.

This and 800 Fantasy Lane, two of my favorite movies, were showcases for that incredibly well built and gorgeous babe Nancy Suiter. Sadly she dropped out soon after she started.

A stand-up comedian that's hooking to pay the bills gets tired of the cop rousts and rounds up some of her hooker pals to form a taxi cab company as a cover. It's a pretty typical comedy with some fun scenes and an enjoyable cast that does a complete flip in the last third to become startlingly rough as a rival cab company comes at them for vengeance. It makes for a unique experience and helps this one to stand out from the pack.

This is a 'must' for any collection. Filmed in L.A., the 'real'cops actually busted the set before it was over out of jealousy. Apparently they didn't care for the typing they got in the script.

"Taxi Girls," helmed by directors Jaacov Jaacovi and Bob Chinn, is a raunchy, rollicking ride through the seedy underbelly of city life, offering a unique twist on the classic '70s sexploitation flick. It's a film that wastes no time diving into the action, and its unapologetic embrace of adult themes is both its strength and, at times, its downfall.

The premise is delightfully debauched: a group of prostitutes, led by the stunning Nancy Suiter, decide to take their business off the streets and into the back seats of taxis. Their venture quickly gains momentum, but success brings a new set of challenges. The film shines when it leans into its comedic elements, with the taxi company offering 'extra services' to their clientele, resulting in a series of raunchy encounters.

The cast embraces the film's explicit nature wholeheartedly. Suiter, in particular, stands out as the ambitious comedian-turned-escort, bringing a touch of class and charisma to the role. John Holmes, as Johnny, delivers a memorable performance, and his scene with Suiter is undoubtedly one of the film's highlights.

However, "Taxi Girls" stumbles in its final act, taking a dark turn that may leave a sour taste. A brutal rape scene involving two of the female leads feels unnecessary and disturbing, marring the otherwise light-hearted tone. It's a jarring shift that the film never quite recovers from, and it's surprising that this scene hasn't garnered more attention in reviews.

That being said, the film has a certain charm that will appeal to fans of the genre. The plot is engaging and moves at a brisk pace, ensuring that the 81-minute runtime never drags. The sex scenes are plentiful and creative, although the orgies, unfortunately, feature some underwhelming male performers.

Overall, "Taxi Girls" is a mixed bag. It delivers on its promise of erotic entertainment, with a unique premise and strong performances. However, the disturbing final act and mediocre male cast members bring it down a notch. For fans of vintage adult cinema, it's worth a watch, but proceed with caution due to its uneven tone and questionable content.
