Are the Amazing Spider-Man Movies on Netflix? Complete Streaming Guide
Image
The Amazing Spider-Man movies star Andrew Garfield as the web crawler and Emma Stone as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. Starting September 1, 2025, the two movies will be on Netflix.

Despite the financial success of the film series, they did not perform as well as Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. Sony had planned a bigger universe with the Andrew Garfield movies, like Sinister Six and Black Cat. The second movie not meeting financial expectations led to The Amazing Spider-Man 3 getting cancelled, along with its spinoffs. Another reason is the internal tension that Sony was facing with Andrew Garfield after he did not attend an important press event.

Charlie Sheen’s Netflix Documentary: Jonathan Cryer, Chuck Lorre and 4 Other Stars Who Will Talk About His Controversial Private Life
Image
Charlie Sheen‘s new Netflix documentary, titled Charlie Sheen, has surprised fans with all its featured interviews. The trailer of the documentary showed everyone from his ex-wife, Denise Richards, and former co-star Jonathan Cryer to even his former drug dealer.

Sheen’s troubled life after becoming a big star and the highest-paid actor on TV will be the focus of the new documentary. Sheen has been sober for the past seven years, and he agreed to tell his story to the world after being convinced by director Andrew Renzi. In telling Sheen’s story, the documentary needed perspective from people who were close to him.

Fans were surprised to see Cryer and Chuck Lorre opening up about the star in the documentary. They had an ugly fallout after Sheen was sacked from his show, Two and a Half Men. Also appearing in the documentary is Sheen’s co-star, friend, and fellow Brat Pack member,...

Romeo Beckham Sends ‘Brutal’ Message to Blocked Brother Brooklyn
Image
What was once considered a tight-knit celebrity family now seems to be unraveling in the most modern way possible—via social media unfollowing and cryptic posts.

Romeo Beckham, 22, has ignited fresh speculation around a growing rift between himself and his older brother Brooklyn Beckham, 26.

The tension between the Beckham siblings, long rumored to have been simmering beneath the surface, finally spilled into public view this week when Romeo appeared to respond to Brooklyn’s alleged social media snub with a not-so-subtle digital clap-back.

On his Instagram story, Romeo posted a screenshot showing he was listening to Justin Bieber’s track Walking Away. The message was made louder not by the song itself, but by the one-word caption he added: “Yup.” A single syllable, yet dripping with context.

Social Media Clues and Family Confusion

Hours earlier, fans noticed that Brooklyn no longer followed Romeo or their younger brother Cruz, 20, on Instagram,...

Lalo Schifrin, Legendary Composer Behind Iconic 'Mission: Impossible' Theme, Dead at 93
Image
Lalo Schifrin, the legendary composer best known for writing the iconic Mission: Impossible theme and various popular film scores, has died. According to Variety, the Grammy winner died on Thursday, June 26, of complications from pneumonia. The Argentine pianist and composer was a trailblazer, becoming one of the first to blend a wide range of musical sounds into both television and film scores that ranged from many genres, including rock and jazz. Schifrin's notable credits include composing music for Bullitt (1968), The Amityville Horror(1979), Here's Lucy (1971), The Beverly Hillbillies (1993), Money Talks (1997), the Rush Hour film series (1998-2007), and hundreds more. He was 93.

His Mission: Impossible work came as a result of praise from previous projects. In fact, the composer had no idea what the Mission: Impossible production was about before getting invited onto the set by producer Bruce Geller. During an interview with SoundTrack Fest, he said that he was invited...

Lalo Schifrin, Acclaimed Composer of ‘Mission: Impossible’ and ‘Mannix’ Themes, Dies at 93
Image
Lalo Schifrin, the six-time Oscar-nominated composer, pianist and conductor renowned for his electric, jazz-infused themes and music for Mission: Impossible, Mannix, Starsky & Hutch and Bullitt, died Thursday. He was 93.

Schifrin, who received an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards in November 2018, died of pneumonia at a hospital in Los Angeles, his son Ryan Schifrin told The Hollywood Reporter. He lived for the past few decades in a Beverly Hills home once owned by Groucho Marx.

A native of Argentina whose father was the Buenos Aires Philharmonic concert master for more than three decades, Schifrin was trained in the world of classical music before being hooked on American jazz when he was a teenager.

He artfully blended the two genres, and the combustible energy and rhythmic vitality of his compositions were especially well-suited for action-suspense movies and TV shows.

The workaholic Schifrin received Oscar nominations for his scores for Cool Hand Luke...

Deep Purple Announce Rapture of the Deep 20th Anniversary Reissue and Remix
Image
Deep Purple have announced a 20th anniversary expanded reissue and remix of Rapture of the Deep, arriving August 29th on vinyl, CD, and digitally.

The release features an expanded 12-song tracklist as well as a bonus disc of five previously unreleased studio jams and rehearsals, including an instrumental track titled “Closing Note” that was recorded by guitarist Steve Morse during the album sessions. The reissue also touts a new mix overseen by bassist Roger Glover, analog mastering at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, and updated sleeve artwork.

“It’s a new album now to me,” said Glover in a press release, in which Rapture of the Deep is described as an “overlooked” LP in Deep Purple’s discography.

The band’s lineup on the 2005 album saw Glover and Morse alongside frontman Ian Gillan, founding drummer Ian Paice, and keyboardist Don Airey. As Glover reflected, the LP came during a peculiar time...

Monsters Season 2 Soundtrack Guide: Every Song & When They Play In Netflix's Lyle & Erik Menendez Show
Image
Warning! This post contains spoilers for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story elevates the impact of its true-crime drama by coupling some of its pivotal moments with compelling songs. Reciting the true story of the 1989 murders of Jos and Kitty Menndez by their own sons, Netflix's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is significantly different from its predecessor, Dahmer Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Instead of adopting a consistently serious tone like the first season of the series, the second installment of the Netflix true-crime show goes from being grim in certain moments to becoming fairly lively in others.

Owing to these changes in its tone, the show features a diverse set of songs as background scores that play a crucial role in enhancing the emotional resonance of many of its key scenes. Although it features songs from several artists throughout its runtime,...

Netflix Releases Official Trailer For ‘Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story’
Netflix on Wednesday released the official first trailer for “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” starring “General Hospital” alum Nicholas Alexander Chavez (ex-Spencer Cassadine) as Lyle and Cooper Koch as Erik. Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny play their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez.

Premiering Thursday, September 19 at 3:00 a.m. Et/midnight Pt on the streaming platform, the second installment in the “Monsters” anthology series details the Menendez brothers in the events leading up to and following their decision to fatally shoot and kill their parents in the family’s Beverly Hills mansion on August 20, 1989.

While the brothers were later convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, during their trial, they cited years of abuse at the hands of their father as the reason behind the murders, a matter that receives ample coverage in the newly released trailer.

‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ Teases Gunshots, Breakdowns and Opulence in Tense First Trailer
Image
The first trailer for “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” has arrived. Netflix released this glimpse at its upcoming original roughly two weeks ahead of the Season 2 premiere of “Monsters” on Sept. 19.

The trailer starts with the night of the murders. As Lyle (Nicholas Chavez) and Erik (Cooper Koch) get out of their car with shotguns in hand, Dr. Jerome Oziel (Dallas Roberts) says, “I’m going to need you to walk me through what happened.” As he talks, Lyle and Erik enter their house. Only flashes of gunfire are seen next.

“Part of this process is the two of you reconnecting, growing closer as brothers,” Dr. Oziel continues.

“Erik and I killed our parents together, so I’d say that makes us pretty close,” Lyle counters while sitting on the therapist’s couch with his brother.

‘Eight Postcards From Utopia’ Review: Advertising Tells (and Sells) All in Radu Jude’s Playful Post-Socialist History of Romania
Image
“Mad Men” did much to romanticize the art of the ad agency, with many of the series’ most memorable scenes in thrall to the creative and strategic genius that goes into a successful sell. Not all advertising is quite so elaborately or expensively conceived, though as “Eight Postcards From Utopia” makes clear, even the most utilitarian or workmanlike commercials have a cultural value of their own. Assembled wholly from a vast archive of post-Revolution Romanian TV ads, Radu Jude and Christian Ferencz-Flatz’s witty, chaotic documentary carves out a tumultuous 30-year-plus history of a country transitioning from socialism to capitalism — all via the ways in which everything from beer to laundry detergent to banking is pitched to the viewing public.

Ostensibly experimental in form but straightforward in concept, “Eight Postcards From Utopia” is presented as a “found-footage” film in the truest sense of the term — with these vintage ads, often on grainy video stock,...

Rush Hour 4 Reportedly Could Be Green Lit with Brett Ratner Directing
Image
Brett Ratner has not made a film in seven years following multiple allegations of sexual assault, but it appears he wants to attempt a comeback with Rush Hour 4. Rush Hour, which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, is one of the defining buddy comedy movies of all time and was a big franchise for New Line Cinema in the late '90s and 2000s. Aside from a short-lived television series, the franchise has remained dormant since Rush Hour 3 was released to mostly negative reviews in 2007. With Bad Boys Ride or Die and Beverly Hills Cop 4 recently proving that there is an appetite for nostalgic buddy comedies, it makes sense that a Rush Hour revival is now in consideration.

Locarno Film Festival 2024: Radu Jude’s ‘Eight Postcards from Utopia’ and ‘Sleep #2’
Image
A year on from the Locarno Film Festival’s international premiere of Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World, which won the festival’s special jury prize on the way to becoming the filmmaker’s most celebrated work to date, a pair of new found-footage films by Radu Jude were screened publicly for the first time on Sunday night at this year’s edition of the festival. Exploring related themes with wildly different approaches, Eight Postcards from Utopia and Sleep #2 showed the Romanian provocateur retaining his fascination with death, the media, capitalist exploitation, and national identity.

Eight Postcards from Utopia is a sharp, mesmerizing, and frequently hilarious hour-long montage of clips from TV commercials broadcast in Jude’s homeland, from the end of communist rule in the 1980s up until the early 2000s. Grouped by theme, style, or audio-visual motif into eight sections, with such titles as “Masculine/Feminine,...

Kanye "Ye" West Says Kim Kardashian Is "Still My Wife" Despite Divorce
Charlie Sheen and Chris Tucker in Money Talks - Geld stinkt nicht (1997)
No paperwork, no problem—at least, according to Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, himself. Although Kim Kardashian and the "Runaway" rapper split earlier this year, Ye recently referred to the star as his "wife" during the Nov. 4 episode of Revolt TV's Drink Champs. Recalling a moment where the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum helped him solve a small issue, Ye first referred to Kim by saying, "My wife—'cause she's still my wife—ain't no paperwork." The Skims founder filed for divorce from the musician back in February after over six years of marriage. Despite their split—the two who share four kids:...

Atlanta Braves’ World Series Victory Up From Dodgers’ 2020 Clincher; ‘The Voice’ Sinks To Season’s Lowest Tuesday
Image
Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday marked a win for both the Atlanta Braves and Fox. The Braves clinched their first World Series championship since 1995, and third overall, with a 7-0 victory over the Houston Astros.

The 2021 World Series ender not only placed Fox’s back at the top of primetime but also scored a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demo and 11.81 million viewers in early Nielsen numbers. Those totals surpass the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2020 World Series win which also took six games. Last night’s game also got a bump compared with this year’s World Series opener.

Just for a pre-pandemic comparison, the 2019 World Series snagged 21.9 million viewers and a 5.6 demo rating in early numbers. Across all of Fox’s platforms, that Washington Nationals’ Game 7 victory over the Astros scored 24 million viewers.

Last night’s numbers are set to rise pending adjustment, as is the case with most major live events.

La Brea (2021)
TV Ratings: La Brea, FBI: Most Wanted Sink Opposite World Series
La Brea (2021)
It was a down night for regularly scheduled programming on the broadcast networks thanks to the deciding game of the World Series.

The game averaged 11.8 million viewers and a 2.7 rating in the demo on Tuesday.

La Brea, which has been a sturdy ratings performer thus far, slipped two-tenths and a million viewers week-to-week.

It had 4 million viewers and a 0.4 rating, but the erosion could be attributed to the competition, as well as the lack of support from a recap show of The Voice (4.8 million/0.5 rating).

La Brea is a hit on Peacock and DVR, so the show is a lock for renewal at this stage. If it recovers next week, it will solidify itself as one of the biggest new shows.

New Amsterdam had 2.8 million viewers and a 0.3 rating to close out NBC's night.

Over on CBS, FBI (6.7 million/0.6 rating), FBI: International (5.3 million/0.5 rating), and FBI: Most Wanted (4.9 million/0.4 rating) all came down,...

The Neighborhood, Bob Hearts Abishola Score Early Renewals at CBS
Tichina Arnold, Cedric The Entertainer, Max Greenfield, and Beth Behrs in The Neighborhood (2018)
CBS is keeping two of the most popular comedies on TV for another season.

The network announced today that it has renewed its popular Monday night comedy block of The Neighborhood and Bob ♥ Abishola for the 2021-2022 broadcast season.

On a highly competitive night, The Neighborhood, currently in its third season, is television’s #2 most-watched comedy, reaching 7.06 million viewers.

Bob ♥ Abishola, also a top-rated comedy, has an audience of 6.70 million in its second season.

In live + same-day results, The Neighborhood is averaging a 0.8 rating, while Bob Hearts Abishola is averaging a 0.7 rating.

Their renewals were never in question due to the strong results, especially considering the sporadic scheduling due to the pandemic.

“We’re extremely proud of these two comedies, and delighted to bring them back next season,” said Thom Sherman, Senior Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Entertainment.

‘Malcolm & Marie’ Soars at Netflix as ‘Greenland’ Continues to Score at a Premium VOD Price
Image
Just as the Super Bowl traditionally inhibits studios from releasing new titles to theaters, there were few fresh films available on home platforms. As a result, four titles — all previously ranked #1 on multiple charts — took the top spots again. The exception was Netflix, which debuted “Malcolm & Marie” February 5. Starring Zendaya and John David Washington, it immediately became the streamer’s most-watched film.

Long-running, still-Premium VOD titles “Greenland” and “News of the World,” along with $5.99 rentals “Tenet” and “Let Him Go,” are this week’s chart toppers. “News” and “Tenet” made all four lists (as did “The War with Grandpa”). “Let Him Go” failed to make Spectrum’s top 10, with its price reduction coming too late to impact the list.

There were a few surprises. Why is “2067,” an Australian science-fiction film starring Ryan Kwanten and Kodi Smit McPhee, available for $0.99 at Apple? (It’s more expensive elsewhere.) “Promising Young Woman,...

Ta-Nehisi Coates
HBO Max New Releases: November 2020
Ta-Nehisi Coates
There are only two months left to go in this truly hellish year and relatively new streaming service HBO Max is trying to make the best of them. While most other streamers recover from Halloween and get prepared for Christmas, HBO Max is using November 2020 to fill out its servers.

Things are pretty light not the new original series front this month with only Industry (Nov. 9) and His Dark Materials season 2 (Nov. 16) making a splash. But the streamer has a couple of notable original films to complement them. Between the World and Me, based on the book by Ta-Nehisi Coates, arrives on Nov. 21 and Melissa McCarthy comedy Superintelligence arrives on Nov. 26. That’s not even to mention two intriguing projects that don’t have dates yet: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special and The Mystery of Db Cooper.

Thankfully, the real appeal in November 2020 is all the fresh library...
