"Joe and Joe" is a well written film that is different from the average big budget Hollywood film. It's difficult for me to give it an exact genre, but it's a mix of comedy, mystery, and even romance. I also like to look at it as a buddy film. One thing I love is how it uses it's soundtrack during many of its scenes. The composed music feels just right for it and fits the mood of the film just right. The two main characters, Joe and Joe, are the kind of people that you love to root for in a movie. You want to see them fulfill their dreams so badly. The humor is also very smart. Both Joe's deliver humor perfectly when put together. The mystery and romance pieces placed throughout the film also make it come off as a comedy with very mature (as in serious) pieces in it. Anyways, I say see this if you want a good family film. It is sort of slow, but if you can appreciate a movie that doesn't rely on dirty humor or stereotypical characters, this is the movie for you. The two characters are believable and so are their supporting cast.
I saw this film way back in 1997, it was wonderful, a little gem.
I totally fell for the dark haired Joe...Dreamy...
See it if you get the chance, it is an excellent film, especially for students or future directors and writers. Just goes to show what a creative mind and determination can produce.

this is such a great movie and it's horrible that no one would buy it and put it in theaters. David Wall (the director/writer/producer) is my cousin by marriage and I'm related to most of the people in the film. the paper boy that falls all the time is my brother, the dark haired Joe is my cousin, the old man in the window is another cousin, and the older lady is his wife therefore related by marriage.i wanted to be in the movie, but being 8, there was no role for me. that summer i was so mad that my brother got to be in it and i didn't. i thought it was great that my cousin was making a movie near where i was. i was on the set a lot of the time during filming. although i am biased, being related to most of the cast/crew, i still thought it was a great movie. if i didn't like it i wouldn't lie about it. i highly recommend this movie (if you can find it since its probably not in every blockbuster) but if you come across it definitely watch it.
I won't describe this movie in detail because when my friends and I (literally) stumbled across it, we had no idea what it was. It's a very charming combination of a buddy picture and a romantic ghost story. That and you'll learn all you need to know about mowing lawns.
So, if you happen to find this at your local video store, bring it home for the family and don't tell them what it's all about. It's adorable, quotable, and definitely worth searching for.

This is one of the little movies that more people ought to see. It is a well shot, no budget flick filmed on Cape Cod about two lovable shmoes who only want to continue mowing lawns, but their equipment is quite antiquated. They need money for a new lawn mower and this mysterious woman appears and tells them about lost treasure. It is a wonderful take on the traditional Cape Cod ghost story, filled with sweet characters and inventive camera shots.
