Public Morals - Die Rotlicht-Cops

This is a workplace sitcom from Steven Bochco and Jay Tarses. It is the Public Morals squad in the NYPD.

The original pilot was replaced with the fifth episode to start the show. It turned out to be the only one aired and the show got canceled. This is an one and done situation. I don't think that it mattered much. Neither episode is that funny. I try to compare it to Brooklyn Nine-nine. This show seems to try harder to be Brooklyn. I don't hate anybody here, but none of them are as good as B99. This is not as light. At the end of the day, this group is not as fun while B99 feels like a family. I'm just not laughing.

I saw this in it's original one-show run, and have it on tape somewhere. I didn't think it was any worse than 75% of the comedies on TV. I know that if there had been a second show, I would have watched it. The word was out that this was going to be some sort of low-level, politically incorrect comedy show, and it was reviewed badly before it aired, so I kinda knew by the first commercial it would be gone.
