"Wrzeciono czasu" (The Spindle of Time) is not the film for everyone, and even if you like auteur cinema, you have to be in the right mood for this film. Director Andrzej Kondratiuk said that "The Spindle of Time" is for those who don't like blood and violence on the screen, recommended for people over forty. The director has almost abandoned the traditional plot. It has been replaced by a very personal, poetic, and sarcastic story about the creation of the film by the author and his life partner, Iga Cembrzynska, who also serves as an actress and producer. Andrzej Kondratiuk has expressed his philosophy of life far from the hustle and bustle of civilization, in symbiosis with nature, which conceals inexhaustible resources of beauty. The story begins in winter. Filmmaker Andrzej and actress Marynia arrive at their dacha. They were last here ten years ago. Returning after such a long absence encourages memories. I liked this movie because I watched it in the right mood. Andrzej Kondratiuk definitely has his own style, but to enter his world, you need some time and patience.
