Three disenchanted bohemians, transplanted from Europe to San Francisco, pursue their vision of the American Dream, which seems to require a lot of hanging out in North Beach cafés. After a while they decide to steal a car and see the country, at which point the film abruptly stops and begins anew, minus a character, supposedly because one of the actors was deported before the film could be completed. Unfortunately, the momentum is killed, and the story becomes a little stale and redundant after the first, invigorating 45 minutes, a complete film in itself up until the heist. The balance of the running time is padded with various pet projects from each lead actress: Diviana Ingravallo's mock-porno performance art routine and Clara Bellino's bland Eurobeat dance music, inappropriate for the underground SF setting. Natural performances from a non-professional cast, a great pseudo-beatnik music score (by Gregory Jones), and some effective low contrast, low budget photography aren't enough to save it from being a marginal film about marginal people.
