i dunno what crack these ppl are smoking but this is pretty boring

Its obtuse, boring, only half the songs are good

and the plot is explained in a title crawl at THE END of the film

3 Chains o' Gold makes Thriller look Under The Cherry Moon!

In the world of great film makers, many names always come to mind: Scorsese, Truffaut, Ford, and Prince. This is Prince's crowning achievement and also one of the greatest moments in cinema of the 1990s. This masterpiece showcases Prince's obsession with a teenage belly dancer during a tour with his band, the magnificently cast NPG. Also of note is Kirstie Alley in an Oscar worthy turn as reporter Vanessa Bartholomew. Cecil B. DeMille be damned because this is truly the greatest show on earth. The cinematography in this movie is breathtaking. The acting in the film is awe-inspiring. The music in the film is the greatest selling point because it is all written and performed by the greatest musician ever to live, Prince! The awesomeness of this movie startled me because I am not a fan of Prince. Highly recommended.

Great music but wtf?

The plot is for the most part nonsense but the music is mostly great and the videos that string everything together have lots of energy. Good luck trying to figure out what's going on though.

A greater movie that makes you forget the Disaster that was Graffiti Bridge!!!

Beautifully shot, lit, & Directed!!!! Prince at his finest!!!! Wonderful cinematography, Great song numbers that could put Moonwalker by Michael Jackson to shame!!!!! Wonderful Choreography from that of Prince's future wife Mayte Garcia whom assumes the guise of an Egyptian princess under attack from 7 mysterious assassins. I wish this was released in theaters because it DEFINITELY deserved the big screen treatment!!!! There's also cameo appearances from that of Kirstie Alley & Troy Beyer which you can't go wrong with. The Dance sequences are well shot and are a brilliant showcase for Mayte Garcia's talent in the art of Belly Dance.
