Nacht der Vergeltung

It's been a long time, but for a TV movie back in the '80s it was pretty good. Basic plot, reminded me of a classic Charles Bronson or maybe even a Clint Eastwood flick. Kind of funny at times as this guy is enforcing his own kind of justice throughout City streets. One scene shows him picking up a couple of no-good hitchhikers. When the hitchhikers turn on him he just speeds up his car to reckless speeds, scares the crap out of the hitchers and forces them to jump out of his car.

Came with its foreign terrorism, this fellow NBC-er had its one-man vigilante army. What was funny was the two hitchhiking robbers, one of them offed a liquor store cashier, wanting Laughlin's Hudson James to take them all the way to Montana and is asked what's out there ?

What is out there is nothing but a no-technicality system that would've smashed these two losers long before any vigilante did. Why didn't they pick Nevada, e.g. Las Vegas, as where they wanted Hudson James to drive them to, one of them who offed the store clerk as the one with nothing left to lose. May his wife and son RIP.
