A new IGN profile reported on the vast multimedia purposes of Epic Games' technology, which has been used to generate 3D environments in everything from shows like Ahsoka to theme park rides like Star Wars: Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run. A more recent addition was Predator: Killer of Killers, with animation studio The Third Floor building the entire anthology film in Unreal Engine 5 to give it a distinct visual look beyond the traditional action film.

According to Cco Joshua Wassung, "We really wanted to lean into moving concept art. We wanted everything to be hand painted. It was the flexibility of the engine that allowed us to really push that particular look that we were going for."

I first met Asha Bhosle after the release of ‘Hare Krishna Hare Ram’ (1971), where I was assisting Dev Anand, and met her last as recently as in 2019 at a music festival in Jaipur, where she was surrounded by friends and admirers, and yet she mentioned to all those present how long our association has been.

Bhanu Athaiya, the costume designer who became the first Indian to win an Oscar, for Richard Attenborough’s “Gandhi” (1982), died at her home in Mumbai Thursday after a prolonged illness. She was 91.

Athaiya was suffering from a brain tumor for the last eight years, her daughter Radhika Gupta told news agency Pti.

Athaiya was born in Kolhapur, western India, in 1929. She began her career as a fashion illustrator for magazines before she moved to designing costumes for films. She made her debut with Raj Khosla’s “C.I.D.” (1956) and went on to design for some of the landmark films of Indian cinema, including Guru Dutt’s “Pyaasa” (1957) and “Kaagaz Ke Phool” (1959) and Abrar Alvi’s “Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam” (1962).

Celebrated film director Sriram Raghavan, who's film 'Andhadhun' has been selected for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (Iffm), on Saturday said that the leading lady of the film Tabu did not check every scene on the monitor after shooting and that the director always wanted to work with her.

Sharing his work experience with Tabu, Raghavan said, "I generally start thinking about the cast once the scripting is done but Tabu I had in mind even while writing the character. She was cool when I approached her. She also used to get zapped by the character while I was narrating. She is one person who doesn't look at the monitor after each and every scene. She is beyond professional and instinctive."

"I used to trip on Tabu as an actor so getting a chance to work with her and also the film doing great is nice," he added.

Famous for his villainous roles in Bollywood, Prem Chopra is a renowned figure in Bollywood.

A career spanning 50 years, Mr Chopra’s filmography includes prominent films such as 1960’s thriller Teesri Manzil, 1970’s nationalist Purab aur Paschim, and the recent 2012 action-packed Agent Vinod.

It has been reported that Prem Chopra launched his autobiography entitled, “Prem Naam Hai Mera” – a famous dialogue of Mr Chopra’s from the iconic Bobby, 1973.

The launch took place at Jw Marriot, Mumbai, on the 14th of April 2014, for which a number of celebrities attended including Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Kumar and Akshay Kumar.

The autobiography penned by Mr Chopra’s daughter Rakita Nanda, visits legendary figures Dilip Kumar and the Big B.

Mumbai, April 13: Veteran actor Prem Chopra, popular for playing negative roles on the big screen, says he has no regrets and he is happy being a villain.

"I have been an honest and hard working actor irrespective of the status of the film, whether it's big or small. I always wanted to create certain characters which I thought I will be getting them but eventually it was going to the heroes."

"As a person, if you ask me 'Do you have any regrets?' I have no regrets. I have been a happy villain," Prem, who acted as villain in 1960s films like "Teesri Manzil" and "Woh Kaun Thi", told reporters here at the unveiling of his biography "Prem Naam Hai Mera" Saturday evening.

In ‘Badtameez Dil’ from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir’s footwork seems inspired from choreography in songs like ‘Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyaar Tera’ (Teesri Manzil, 1966) and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ (China Town, 1962).

The makers of the film, however, maintain it’s only a coincidence. “I don’t know if we can call it an ode to Shammiji; it wasn’t a planned move. But now, when we look at some of the moves and Ranbir’s mad energy, the similarities can’t be ignored. I think people see the connection because Shammiji also possessed unparalleled energy when it came to dance,” says director Ayan Mukerji.

Shot over five days, the song that has been choreographed by Remo D’Souza, is also special because Ranbir brought in his 30th birthday during its shoot. “I didn’t have any song-and-dance number in Wake Up Sid (2009), but I always wanted to explore shooting one.

New Delhi, April 9: Actor Ranbir Kapoor's high-on-energy moves in new song "Badtameez dil" from his forthcoming movie "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" are being compared to his late grand-uncle Shammi Kapoor's famous dancing style.

Shammi Kapoor's typical moves from "Aaja aaja" from the 1966 movie "Teesri Manzil" and "Baar baar dekho" from the 1962 release "China Town" seem to have inspired Ranbir's overall steps and expressions in the peppy "Badtameez dil" number.

Director Ayan Mukherji says the song wasn't a planned "ode" to Shammi Kapoor, who died in 2011 following ill health. However, the outcome is coincidentally reminiscent of the late star's distinct style.

The 13th Mumbai Film Festival will pay homage to renowned film personalities who passed away lately: Mani Kaul, Mf Husain and Shammi Kapoor.

Siddheshwari directed by Mani Kaul will be presented at the festival on October 16. It is a national award-winning documentary on the life of Hindustani singer Siddheshwari Devi.

Through The Eyes of a Painter by Mf Husain will be screened on October 17 as a tribute to the painter-filmmaker. The short film was written, directed and filmed by Husain in 1967, and produced by the Films Division. It won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The festival will screen Vijay Anand’s Teesri Manzil on October 18 as a tribute to veteran actor Shammi Kapoor who passed away in August.

The festival will run from October 13-20, 2011.
