High Jump

The first big problem with this film is the accent,nor less the accent,attempted by Lisa Danielly.This must be the worst attempt at an Italian accent ever.The film is acted in cramped sets,with overloud music and corny dialogue.

The idea is certainly novel, but the plot, dialogue and characters are not. In fact, the story is full of holes and wild implausibilities, especially in the last five minutes when the long-awaited climax at last transpires. Even here, the action is rather tame; but elsewhere there is no action at all, just seemingly endless talk. On the credit side of the ledger, however, the girls (Lisa Daniely as the femme fatale, and Leigh Madison as the official heroine) are fairly attractive. But on the other hand, Godfrey Grayson's relentlessly routine direction stacks up as a distinct negative. Production values also register as strictly minor. The sets are cramped and the writers have mustered all the usual "B"-grade devices of filling-in-time. The movie's length could come down to 20 minutes with ease. Colin Tapley is a security guard.
