The Kitchen Lady

Every lady is fond of Slim Summerville in this movie: kitchen drab Louise Fazenda, who writes him a note asking him to marry her; Alice Maison, who gets the note, and thinks it from Summerville; and Eva Thatcher.... Well. She's his mother, so that's excusable. Perhaps it's the bear he keeps in the basement, and which gets out to end this comedy.

It's pretty primitive for a Mack Sennett comedy at this stage, but he had just abandoned the Keystone Studio, which had been absorbed by Triangle. He got off to a brisk start, with a contract for distribution by Paramount, and most of his talent following him. But it takes a while to get a new studio up and running, so it was back to basics here.
