The movie title brings to mind the peppy song of the same name. It is a very jovial and catchy song that is hard to get out of the mind. It wouldn't be far-fetched to say that the movie echoes these admirable traits of the song as well. It is light-hearted and fun and certainly an enjoyable watch. Another aspect of the song that the movie shares is the underlying hard-hitting message that peeks out from underneath the facade of comedy just like the sun peeks out from behind the clouds.
Firstly, the foundational concept of the story is something that is different from the usual commercial fare and yet also not so novel and unheard of that audiences may find it hard to relate or understand to the characters on screen. The pace of the movie is set at a comfortable rate, crisp enough to avoid monotony. Due to the very nature of the plotline, the balance of the screenplay threatened to go off-kilter in certain places but they were well-put together and didn't appear overbearing.
The dialogues were well-written and concise, reflective of the storyline. Each actor's performance was apt for the story. Would've liked to add special mentions but it would be unfair as all the actors with significant roles did a great job. The song sequences had admirably picturesque scenery to enhance their aesthetics.
The typical love story was presented through this narrative with a brave attempt to transcend beyond the other portrayals by having Rummy come back as a ghost to protect the girl he loves. The roles of the comedic Dharma, villainous Jayanna and comedic as well as villainous Guruji ("Mayambara!") added ample support to the story and were indeed memorable additions to the storyline. All in all, it is a well-made family entertainer that is definitely worth the watch. Kudos to the team!
