Richard Stephenson Winter is not a lord but IS a retired Major. (And an actor.) The Towers is heavily influenced by 1950's / 60's comedy Hancock's Half Hour. Christabel Clark who plays Lady Pamela Pilkington is a Ninja, holding a black bent in Ninpo. Richard Stephenson Winter's cousin is Academy Award winning screen writer Simon Beaufoy. The Towers was first blogged on social media, leading to two books being published for Amazon Kindle, A Thirsty Thursday At The Towers (an anthology of social media vignettes) and A Twist Of Fete At The Towers, a self contained novel.
