Brazilian 'Ken Loach' presents Brazil 90's and Chico Diaz

Certainly the best film of 2021. Not only a well made film, with perfect direction, casting, art direction, script. It is also a necessary film: no other movie has shown so well the 90's, those horrible neo-liberal years which seem to be coming back. Script is careful, with deep characters, attention to details, symbolic references. Vinicius Rei, who also directed quite good 'Praça Saes Peña', is deffinitely qualified to be referred as the Brazilian 'Ken Loach'. All actors do a grest job: Sílvia Buarque, Bianca Byington, Emílio de Mello... and obviously Chico Diaz. There is no surprise, as his career is well known and he is undoubtly very talented, but... what a wonderful performance! Every single moment is portrayed by him in the most natural and convincing mood, from happiness to anger, from sadness to pride, from obstination to drunkness.
