Well, if you enjoyed the 2017 animated movie "The Son of Bigfoot", then you will definitely also enjoy the 2020 animated movie "Bigfoot Family". Trust me on that one.
I found the 2020 animated movie to be every bit as entertaining as the 2017 predecessor. And while they were very different in contents, they proved to be equally enjoyable and entertaining.
The storyline in "Bigfoot Family" is more wide-spreading in comparison to the 2017 storyline, and it does tell a story about something that raises a thought or two once the story is finished and the end credits are rolling. "Bigfoot Family" is centered around an environmental awareness-based story, for better or worse. Sure, some might see it as propaganda I suppose, but come on, this is an animated movie meant for entertainment. Sure, it planted a seed or two in my consciousness after having seen the movie, but for me it was hardly propaganda.
The art style used in "Bigfoot Family" is the same as used in "The Son of Bigfoot", so if you enjoyed it back in 2017, you have something to look forward to with this 2020 animated movie.
As an animated movie, having a proper voice cast to deliver the dialogue and bring the characters to life is rather important. And I will say that they definitely had a good ensemble of casted performers to do just that in "Bigfoot Family". I thoroughly enjoyed the raccoon and the bear characters, because they were just hilarious, and actually carried much of the movie for me.
I was genuinely entertained by "Bigfoot Family" and I can warmly recommend that you take the time to sit down and watch it, especially if you have children. It proved to be a fun movie, and my rating of "Bigfoot Family" is a six out of ten stars. While it was good, it was not a contender for being among the best of animated movies to make it out of 2020.

Decent watch at best, won't watch again, and can't really recommend.
While very stylized, the animation quality is excellent, but between Bigfoot having magic powers, having passed them to his son, the wife not being able to speak to animals (thus being left out of half their life), the weirdness of Bigfoot being an absent father, and the better movie that we skipped, there is a lot to be desired, very early in the movie.
I had hoped that the bigger plot would out weigh all the negative nuances, but it just didn't happen.
It's also a weird contrast of child focused presentation with an very extended murder plot: there's a corporations are earth murderers message that hits the audience like a frying pan, and it's just not fun enough to cover it. Maybe for young audiences.

All of the brain-dead and repetitive *PANS* in the reviews are obvious paid plants by the oil industry. There's scarcely an honest review amongst them. If you are looking here for a genuine write-up to help you decide whether to watch this movie, pay no attention to them. I could say a million things about this, but my main message is: This is a really fun movie, and beautifully done. A total winner. Unless you're in the oil business. (And if you are, go **** yourself.)
This movie is kinda like eating popcorn with no butter and no salt; its not gonna hurt you, but why would you bother? Bigfoot Family has all the subtlety and charm of a mid 90s "family life" educational special. Its the family movie equivalent of a comedian that explains every joke after they tell it.
Seriously, its just flat. Every single plot point is explicitly explained in the dialogue, all the "jokes" are on the nose. No charm, no timing, no whimsy, no emotion. Several characters nearly died several times and not once did i care either way.
Seriously, don't bother. Just watch Ferngully.

The animation in this film, along with the character models that are used, are surprisingly good, the backgrounds are very detailed. And fit right into the theme of the film with the use of color. The music was good. The story, tho, is predicable as it gets, the film tries to promote an environmental message - which is good, but the fact that the whole plot revolves around that, takes away the fun and makes the whole thing a bit in-your-face. The characters are cliched but they got certain personalities that makes them stand out a bit. and seems have some kinda powers, it's odd but it's cool. But I found the whole talking animals to be way overdone in animated movies. It's so formulaic, it's about time they found something new to do. And them (the animals) messing around the house made me uncomfortable. That said, I found them to be a little funny in the later parts of the movie. They weren't crucial to the plot but they were fun. The big foot was a peculiar character and there's something off about his personality, that I can't get my head around. The villain is a generic bad guy with evil motives. Some of his lines, as well as the subvillain's did make me chuckle a bit tho. Overall, a decent animation with standard characters and story but is mildy entertaining.

- WissenswertesThe Alberta provincial government started a smear campaign in 2021 against the film, claiming that it "peddles lies about the energy sector" because it "shows oil being extracted by blowing up a valley using glowing red bombs that look like something out of an action movie".
- PatzerWhen the family enters the Canadian border, a Royal Canadian mounted police (RCMP) officer dressed in a traditional "Mountie" uniform greets them. That is not what Canadian border officers look like. The uniform is similar to American border officers or modern police uniforms.
