I saw John Vardar vs the Galaxy at the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The story is very creative and full of twists, the graphic look is very original with vibrant visuals. The pace of the movie is fast and modern. The audience was laughing at the jokes, adults and kids alike (the movie was screened in the Family section of the festival). There are a lot of references to classic cinema movies, and pop culture in general. Another thing that I particularly enjoyed was the music - in some moments I felt like I was watching a Kusturica movie, but set in space.

All in all, a great family comedy with good laughs. Highly recommended!

I watched the film with my 8 year old son at the São Paulo Mostra Festival. Great story arc and many funny characters. It was refreshing to see the main character Jon Vardar navigate through all of his adventures and plots. Loved the many puns it contained too. Me and my son laughed a lot together, I noticed some parts were very funny for adults, others for kids and many for both. It would have helped if the film was dubbed in Portuguese, I think kids would have enjoyed it a lot more. I hope some Brazilian distributor picks it up and they dub it, and make it more accessible for Brazilian audiences. Would definitely watch it again with my kid.

The first Macedonian animated feature film delivers more than expected .Great looking, beautifull with an unique sensibillity from the one and only The Micho as the art director, fun and funny, a story for the ages, a great experience for the whole familly, The animation is on a very high level, with a lot of actiion and comedic gags. The pllot takes us to a few different locations, all unique and interesting. You fall in love in the characters and are invested in their wonderfull adventure. Its a must see, for kids and lovers of traditional 2d animated films. Had a blast watching it, it was a rollercoaster of fun, action, emotion , love and friendship.
