This is a highly produced version of Project Runway with more established designers. However, the judges (in particular Naomi Campbell and Nicole Richie) are nearly unbearable to watch. They have caddy discussions during the runway show and try to outdo each other with over-the-top insults. Campbell is unrelatable and comes across as an overconfident snob whereas Richie comes across as a wannabe. Neither of them seem competent. The other two judges seem competent but aren't featured as much as Campbell and Richie.
Although it's great to see Klum and Gunn back together and it's fun for there to be more at stake here than on Project Runway, the show is a little too boring. Hopefully it will improve with time.

Something off, can't put my finger on it. Adore Tim but I rather hear him & Heidi talk about fashion history than their silly side adventures. And WHAT IS UP WITH THE MUSIC? The music is insane,, just all over the place tone wise & often completely mismatched to what's going on on the screen. Plus mixed way too loud. Wish I could mute it.
I wanted to love this show because I was such a fan of Project Runway and I love Tim Gunn. Heidi Klum was always "okay" but she did bring glamour to the show. This is so bad! The designers are really not very good and bring nothing unique to the fashion design world. It's lacks the excitement of Project Runway and while I still love Tim Gunn, he alone can't save the show. Heidi Klum is terrible in this show. Her acting is soooo bad. Don't waste your time!
I want to love this show, I am obsessed with clothes and style and want to see more great designers and incredible outfits.
However, the show is a disaster, it's like they took all the worst bits of Project Runway and added some extra.
The judging panel is appalling, the judges personify the very worst aspects of the fashion industry. Tim Gunn is the only "expert" that emerges with any credibility as a human.
As for the format, I don't even know where to start.
Please sack Heidi and Naomi as a priority, get rid of the other two judges, reformat completely and bring it back for season two.
Five stars out of five for the designers and their clothes, no stars out of five for the rest of it.

I loved Project Runway and I am happy to see "Klunn" back together again on a platform untainted by H. Weinstein, but I am sorely missing the scrappy PR contestants! The contestants on Making the Cut are established designers who have seamstresses at their disposal in this competition that come in at night and sew, elves and the shoemaker style. I much preferred watching untapped fashion talent pour their blood sweat and tears into their runway look. The show is promising if you are a lover of fashion design, but lacking in depth and character development. As I AM a lover of fashion, and Tim and Heidi (extra star added for their mere presence!), I will continue to watch as an escape from reality, but keeping my expectations low for any real relatability.
