Never Judge a Film by its Budget.

Sure it obviously had next to no money for spectacular stunts, lush sets and exotic exteriors, but those things weren't needed here. The story was good and creepy, the acting was awesome, and it is an enjoyable film. Worth a watch.

Pretty good effort for low budget

The movie makers deserve credit for making the most of what they had. Despite one reviewer's comment the acting wasn't bad at all. Good story too, it certainly kept me watching until the end. 90% of horror films these days are utter tripe, this one isn't.

Psycho fears meets Lovecraftian horror in this unsettling thriller, which manages to be compelling despite its well-worn territory. Shane Carruth stars as a wellmeaning but troubled psychiatrist driven to insanity by a patient who comes back from the dead with no memory of who he is, claiming to have a hidden evil lurking inside. The story takes inspiration from Clive Barker but writer-director Billy Senese keeps things fresh with a 'show, don't tell' approach, holding the tension taut as the film builds towards a supernatural confrontation, with the odd spattering of gore along the way.

After reading Danger to Self, a non-fiction book about the emergency psych sector, writer/director Billy Senese hired the author, Paul Linde, as a technical consultant so that the film would feel as grounded as possible.
