It's very obvious from the first minute that this is a adult animation and you need to go into it with that in mind. This movie is funny as hell and if you're a fan of South Park level comedy you'll love it. Despite the humor it actually has a great plot with everything you could ask for in this kind of adult comedy.
The movie is about dog neutering, mating, and little else.
Personally, I find it quite strange that the very first ten seconds deliver so many visual flaws. Did they not notice or cared? Was that the first impression they wanted to give? At a decent resolution, the problems are impossible to miss.. from inconsistent line-art with mismatched brush styles and scales, stray lines where they shouldn't be, and a shoddy composition that looks terribly-pieced together (hands drawn separately from the dog they touch, cut and pasted with thin white outlines leftover). It feels unprofessional and lacking in some art direction and care.
To its credit, the visuals do improve soon after, with backgrounds and designs that are at least competent, though never spectacular.
Unfortunately, the script doesn't get any better. The structure is painfully basic, the dialogue tiresome, and the humor never lands.. leaning entirely on raunchiness without offering anything clever in return. The result feels very much like that dreadful Sausage Party and not in a good way.
With Genndy Tartakovsky's name attached, I expected something better. Instead, we get a flat story padded with unnecessary celebrity voices, none of which add anything to the uninspired writing.
In the end, the film is almost okay but leaves you with nothing, and it mostly feels like a waste of time for the viewers, unless they are capable of enjoying most any thing.

Cannot be viewed seriously, take it for what it is...
A foul-mouthed comedy in cartoon format about a dog about to have his bits off...
It's like South Park meets lady and the tramp...
I caught the kids watching it a quickly had to turn it off but decided to watch it later in the evening. Killed some time but can't say I'd watch it again.
I was very excited due to the director and names attached to this movie but even they couldn't save it. The animation is beautiful, the soundtrack is great, and the voice acting is okay. BUT, the pacing is weird, the editing is choppy, and voice acting could have been better. It felt cheap and offbeat as if it was supposed to be a TV show. It's okay, just don't expect a Sausage Party.
Fan of the director/creator of this. Always love his animation both traditional and cgi. It was just beautiful to see this kind of animation again and done well. Cast was great and I did have some laughs. In today's world when you have raunchy movies you get the idea of simple and predictable story telling. It's why I rank this lower. You had an idea before it happens on screen. These movies are made for adults (def no kids allowed watching this). I don't get why they don't put a little more depth in comedies like this (I see a lot of people comparing sausage party to this which I think very different but def some similarities). I highly recommend if you enjoy animation. Story wise you aren't getting anything complex. Again there is def laughs but not enough.
