The 60s and 70s episodes are more or less ok, but the 80s episode is historically offensive. There is hardly any analysis of the AIDS crisis and instead of focusing on the huge amount of material that is available it goes back and forth to the present, mixing and matching topics and essentially avoiding the biggest crisis in recent queer history. It is heart-breaking that we still cannot truly look at this time and dissect it historically properly. Perhaps the trauma is too recent, but we really ought to. And this documentary really has failed to produce anything of value to do with the 80s. Avoid.
What an enjoyable series. So many different angles were covered. As a young N. Y. C. Club going guy in the late 80's and 90's it was so touching to see all of the Nelson Sullivan clips being used in such an effective way. They tell a story all by themselves when you watch them on you tube. But here they are interwoven so well to fit into the narrative.
I don't know who or where from these nasty low ratings are coming from. Did they actually even watch the series? Is it just holy rollers being spiteful?
Pride is the perfect example of how documentaries can be fun and interesting and actually teach without being dry or boring.

I could barely connect with this series as a gay man, because of the troubles with the us and the extreme focus on black vs white.
This was supposed to show the progress of the LGBTQ+ community and the world but it was just dragged down by the struggle of black people in the us.

The cinematography was excellent. This is by far the most inclusive story telling about gay pride in America that I have seen this far. I learned so much about the history of gay life and gay rights in America, the struggles these Americans have endured and overcome. The narration and inclusion of short films and narration made every story more personal and easier to connect with. This is a great film. I highly recommend it.
Almost like combining tidbits of all the pivotal LGBTQ docs into one series. I don't know how someone who hasn't seen the docs would appreciate/learn it all but at least the stories are being told again. Nothing too new otherwise. I'm honestly just glad they highlighted Nelson Sullivan and gave him the recognition he deserves. He was a gift.
