O Clube dos Anjos

Based on the work of Luis Fernando Veríssimo, with an extremely interesting and intelligent script (I had trouble following it), a cast of excellent actors, and a wonderful Otávio Muller (as always), the film, like the book (I haven't read it yet), seems to carry a series of interpretative complexities, and the seven deadly sins (only after reading an article about it by PhD student Carolina Veloso did I have a better understanding of it), charming and intelligent, captivates and intrigues us from beginning to end...

The enthusiasm for a monthly gathering of a group of old friends who are passionate about delicious food is waning after many years. After meeting an interesting and mysterious chef, one of them decides to gather the gang for a magnificent last meal. Despite a mysterious death the next day, they decide to continue meeting to serve their favorite meals one by one. This distinctive combination, part culinary film, part thriller, provides an evocative representation of friendship, food and gluttonous sin.
