I really like the cinematography of this film
good color tone and give a good impression in the eyes of the audience
acting the players especially the mother, very good and convincing
we will feel scared even though the ghost of this film hasn't appeared yet
unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with some of the effects
overall, this film is good even though it can't be as powerful as satan's slave

This movie is great, actually. The acting is amazing, with great (although not too complex, possibly to get the more mysterious vibe) characterization. All of them, especially Putri Ayudya, she deserves Piala Citra of her own. Her change of character, her change of voice, her change of look, it's just the best I have ever seen in Indonesian horror for a long time. The cinematography is also beautiful; every scene is good looking (too dark, perhaps, but it still supports the tone of teh whole movie). The plot of this movie is constructed neatly and systematically; it's hard to not lose focus. The aura surrounding this movie is gripping and mysterious, which gets me excited and scared at the same time. That is why it's so hard to see when this movie gets into its final act, it failed spectacularly. This movie got predictable pretty quickly, and seemed too rushed. and the twist isn't that good either. That basement scene is a treat to see on screen, but it's not very convincing and I blamed the director for the failed execution. It leaves me with a "meh". At the end, I appreciated this movie for trying to be different, but I knew this movie could be better.
Good story line, nice cinematography. Every single scene make me feels so curious what happen next. Good job. Even better than the recent horror flicks.
Kafir: Bersekutu dengan Setan is a prime example of the revival of modern Indonesian horror. By blending supernatural elements with deeply rooted local tradition and intense family drama, the film offers an experience that is not just scary-but emotionally gripping.
From the very beginning, the audience is pulled into a tense, quiet atmosphere. The seemingly peaceful village backdrop becomes the perfect setting for a haunting story. Cinematography and lighting are used effectively to create discomfort without relying heavily on special effects. Viewers will feel breathless during many intense yet well-paced moments.
The acting is solid, especially from the lead, who conveys fear and desperation convincingly. What sets the film apart is how it integrates cultural values and spiritual beliefs, making the horror feel grounded and personal.
Some scenes may feel slow to some, but this pacing helps build mystery. Local rituals and community beliefs add a distinct flavor that Western horror rarely captures.
With mature direction and a story that touches on faith, grief, and family, Kafir deserves an 8 out of 10. It's not just a scary film-it's one that stays with you.

I enjoy watching horror movies from Indonesia. They are making great horror movies over there. Kafir: Bersekutu dengan Setan is definitely without exception. Great storyline coupled with great cinematography & great acting make this an excellent one to watch.
Definitely worth watching. Recommended.
