Black Beauty

So its 2020, let's take the boy out and put in a chick. Let's make the stallion a mare. Let's take them out of London and put in the wild west. Let's make him/her sorry, a mustang and not a carriage horse. Seriously? This is sickening. Call the horse something else. Why would you change all of this and it has nothing to do with the book or the other films. 1994 one is the ultimate best, the cartoon from 78 is good but good luck finding it. Like the new Magnificent 7 or the new upcoming Wild Bunch, this is another i refuse to watch. Hollywood sinks to a new all time low.

If you are willing to stoop to mere name recognition to get views you've already lost my respect. A black smudge on everyone involved. Am I too harsh? No. It's not a bad story and not badly executed, but when some nameless groom burns down the stable it shows disrespect to the audience on another level. This story is diametrically opposite to the story of Black Beauty.

Don't get me wrong, I love re-envisioned classics but it must be analogous to the original.

It annoyed me that they kept trying to pass off a very obviously tall thoroughbred as a mustang...I liked the movie otherwise. It wasn't perfect, but worth the watch.

A nice short and simple movie with the story we all know. Nothing wrong how they proceeded with it. And the cast is quite interesting too. Can be watched with family as it doesn't have any gratuitous content. PS : the horse actually looks very beautiful.

Should not have called it "Black Beauty" when there's elements of other horse films throughout it.
