Did Jamie Foxx take this job just to get his daughter a job? Calling her a DJ is a stretch. She literally just presses the "play" button. I would rather see guest DJ's that are actually DJs. Corrine ruins this otherwise fun show.

Final Verdict

The beat goes on-and it's damn good.

It's so terrible that teams can kick butt and get almost all the songs right but a team can get one answer right in the fast track and keep moving on. It's hard to route for horrible teams. We want to route for the teams that's are amazing. Redo the point system. Guess what the team who answer the most accurately SHOULD earn the right to take on Shazam.

Back in the '50s, '70s and '80s, there was a game show called "Name That Tune", which the objective of the show was to name the song that's currently playing. Then, in 2017, to cash in with the success of Shazam, Fox decided on doing a 21st century version of NTT with Shazam in play. There were 4 rounds in play (5 in S1), with the first few songs and a FastTrack Value at the end, and then the final round "Beat Shazam", to get a chance to win $1,000,000.

The Foxxman himself Jamie Foxx is the main host and does a great job of keeping the energy flowing throughout each and every episode.

Then, as for the DJ/Sidekick role, October Gonzalez was the sidekick for the 1st season before she was replaced at the start of S2 by Jamie's daughter Corinne Foxx, who has a great father-daughter relationship with Jamie, and it shows.

A decent show for Fox and hopes it goes on for at least a few more years.

Good game show concept but the pacing is too slow. It's fun at times but you spend most of your time feeling like you're waiting around. Also felt like my many different styles of preferred music were poorly represented in favor of pop, hip hop, r&b, etc.

Lastly, buckle in for some of the most painfully awkward contestant interviews. (Took an extra star off for having to watch 1/4 of the show on mute)
