Film making was started as an Art, over the years it has been transformed as Entertainment. We rarely get a few movies that shows us Cinema is an Art, MANU is one of them.
MANU is a painting passionately painted by Phanindra Narseti.
But the movie is not for everyone. You know about Painter's obsession. An Artist has to know when to put the brush away, some might think the movie is extreme.
And the writing was awesome, he already proved himself with Madhuram. When I was watching the movie, I started having a doubt and confusion about the Theme and concept of the movie and as movie progresses the doubt has increased, but Phanindra Narseti cleared all my doubt with a single dialogue (I won't spoil it, but it's about "Perfume bottle breaks down but leaves it's smell" - people who watched the movie can re call it)
Finally, it's worth watching this movie which would take you into it's world for 3 hours (best thing was without songs and bulls**t)
9/10.

Phanindra has a unique style of film making that no one can match his kind, this movie is a perfect example on his ability. Though it's lengthy, but then, by end of the show you can't stop loving it !
Manu is a movie I will watch multiple times, not to understand it but to cherish every frame, color, moments, love, characters and poetry in it.
Thanks to Phanindra Narshetti for this unique experience.
From first shot to last shot ..
Director Phanidra Narasetti Garu and his team.
They hijacked my eye's...
I don't want discuss about story.
You
Guys want a new kind of experience..
Experience is the small word about this film
Pleasure ..is the perfect word for it..
Don't miss it
The story starts with two contexts going in parallel and you asking the question why? as you follow through, your why's are answered but by the time a "why" is answered, another "why" takes space on the screen and draws your attention for the next answer. This is continued all through the movie which is why the sole reason for a viewer to feel himself attached to the movie for 3 long hrs
The first 30-45 min of the movie is a bit hard to crack. It won't make sense until the next hour starts to reveal the answers for all the mystery that's there in the previous hour. I must say, the director took his time to explain every detail he brought onto the screen space. It's tough for the director to keep the audience engaged for 3 hrs and phani has done exceptional work in this aspect. This is completely justified after the end of the movie.
I am so amazed by the screenplay. I am sure the director himself may have had complications in writing the play for the very first time. one needs a lot of patience and thinking to sketch such a play and , there's no two ways about it, phani is one of those top directors in Indian cinema. His intelligence can be vividly scene in the flow of the movie.
While a scene is introduced and parked away for a while, before you get lost with the current running context, the director makes sure that you connect the dots by recalling the introduced scenes. Some time in the mid way, people may not follow why the director has played a scene that don't have relevance with the running context. However, why he made such a move will be appreciated only when you move forward "along with the screenplay", this is where you have the utmost fun when you start connecting the dots.
"the sets of manu" on YouTube shows the commendable hard work they put in to building the sets for movie. With such a low budget, I am taken aback with the quality of the movie. Especially, phani used his intelligence in creating lighting which would usually demand a heavy price for the same creation. Whatever the architect and director had conceived in terms of the sets, it was clearly seen on the screen.
What adds more to the movie is phani's magical dialogue writing. We all know, the philosophical and poetic person in phani through madhuram. Some refreshing dialogues were exchanged between the leads in the movie and one would immensely enjoy the whole track.
Not to be forgotten about the cameraman, can't imagine how few of the shots were shot, the expertise is commendable.
Finally, this movie is not to the crowd who enjoy direct entertainment. it's specific to the audience who loves to think through the movie.
I wish more and more of these comes into the market and I sincerely hope that people start accepting these kinds of films and encourage the young talent who are far better than the conventional movie makers.
