Der wilde Osten

This is an informative well made program. I enjoyed it. It covers species, native to and across North America, but more importantly those we don't get to see further inland and on the west side of the United States and Canada. This 14 episode series focused on animals we may see everyday but wouldn't necessarily know a lot about. The series did provide a lot of insight on their habit, interactions with other wildlife, all without confusing the 7, 8 and 75 year olds that watched engaged and fascinated. This is definitely entertaining family friendly educational T. V. that I highly recommend for all ages.

Wild Eastern Canada is a more appropriate name for this series since that is the show's true focus. The show doesn't have any groundbreaking footage and all of the animals are very commonly seen in forested areas, so there won't be any sort of "wow factor" for anyone who lives near a forest.

The footage is decent, but the camera quality is fairly low compared to what is expected from a 2016 nature documentary, so images are sometimes grainy and action sequences are very hard to follow.

The narrator is entertaining, but the information itself isn't compelling. At least a handful of times in each episode, the narrator spends an absurd amount of time explaining a concept so simple that the point can be made with a simple short sentence, or sometimes not even saying anything at all. There is good information in this show, but about half of the episodes feel like they didn't have enough to fill a 24 minute espisode, and they start adding filler content to stretch the info out to meet the runtime.
