You can never give up on love yes I loved this Hallmark story , I watched it on the Hallmark Channel. Love Locks is a sincere romance, and I defy anyone to not be moved by these kindhearted characters as they reflect on the history of their first love and come to rediscover the strength and goodness of that love. Yes I highly recommend it. James Welch Henderson, Arkansas 1/26/2021
The daughter character is named Alexa. When I watch this movie, romaine lettuce is delivered to my house the next day. Weird!
Hallmark may be very inconsistent in all their season blocks every year (their Christmas films particularly), but there are films of theirs that are surprisingly well above average and more in every season block and every year. Their 2017 output did have misfires throughout the year ('At Home in Mitford'), but also films that impressed me ('The Birthday Wish'). Was intrigued by 'Love Locks' due to the cast and because it was one of the Hallmark Hall of Fame films.
'Love Locks' may not have quite wowed me, but it is not undeserving of being a Hallmark Hall of Fame film and is a very promising and very good way to start, or at least lead into, the 2017 Hallmark Valentine films period. Is it a great film? Not quite. Is it worth watching and has a lot of good things? Yes, and as far as Hallmark's 2017 output that had been aired already goes it's one of the better ones and among their better ones overall that year.
There is very little to criticise here. It is formulaic and doesn't have many surprises, almost everything is obvious well before it happens (and it is not just the neatly wrapped up ending) and did think that Bruce Davison seemed out of place and didn't fit his role.
On the other hand, 'Love Locks' is a beautiful looking film and one of the best looking 2017 Hallmark films. Especially the Parisian scenery, which is nothing short of magnificent. One has to be an amateur to find some way somehow of making Paris look visually ugly, and luckily that doesn't happen here. Photography is very loving towards it. The music is not overbearing or overused, while still having personality and variety.
While not a script that will win awards, the script is light-hearted and witty, clearly knowing what it was trying to be and clearly understood the genre the film fits under. Doing so without trying to throw in too much tonally or adding anything unnecessary. The story is not original, but is full of charm and never takes itself too seriously, while also treating the subject with maturity. The pace never felt dull while not being rushed.
Also felt that the characters weren't too stereotypical and were more than just typical Hallmark cliches that is seen too often with Hallmark. Also cared for them, with them being true to life with personality traits that appealed with situations worth relating to. Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell are very appealing in their roles, with a nice light hearted energy and also heart. Their chemistry really charms.
In conclusion, liked it very much on the whole. 7/10.

Beautiful photography and on location filming in Paris make this Hallmark romance above average and quite charming. A divorced mother played by a still attractive Rebecca Romijn and her daughter - refreshingly not a brat, go to Paris. There they find romance. Jerry O'Connell is her ex boyfriend who owns a pretty hotel there. The theme is the love locks people put on bridges.
The cast is good and surprisingly a real life husband and wife can act in a romance without being irritating. The only fault is Bruce Davison who isn't a convincing French artist.
There are some Hallmark movies that are too perky and cute or the cast is a bit second rate. This isn't one of them. Worth a watch.

7.8 stars.
I think Hallmark can't go wrong with an all star cast such as this. I guess the leads are married, and I probably knew that a while back, but I forgot. What I most enjoy about 'Love Locks' is that with the backdrop of Paris, Romijn and O'Connell provide great chemistry, fun, laughs and love. There is a lot of energy happening in this story and I have to attribute most of it to a subdued O'Connell who is bursting at the seams to give us a whole lot more than was permitted.
Lindsey and Jack are two Americans who were in Paris 20 years ago and were lost in love, but she had to return to New York to pursue her own dreams of becoming an artist and whatever other excuses the writers could concoct. Meanwhile, Jack stays in Paris and builds a life for himself there. Lindsey returns to Paris with her 18 year old daughter (not Jack's) and by coincidence Jack owns the hotel where they are staying and the love resumes right where it left off.
I enjoy 'Love Locks', it's exciting and very entertaining. There is something very sparkly about the the Parisian atmosphere and the dream of love and the abundance of artistry in this film. There are several other characters that enrich the story as well, which adds more layers and balance to the film. 'Love Locks' is rich with pleasant conversations and exciting interactions amongst the characters, involving art, fine cuisine, beautiful scenery, and growing friendships. The dialogue is intelligent and bold, and the personalities are happy and fun-loving. There is not one ounce of gloom in 'Love Locks', so this is a good pick-me-up if you need one. The acting is great, the romance is great, this movie is great!
