Without any spoilers, there are so many things in this movie that never add up. Like the lack of storyline and purpose for instance. This ends up feeling like a higher budget Lifetime movie. People go missing without any question to their disappearance. I'm still not sure what this movie is about. There are a million warnings yet the need to leave the house isn't present. I could go on but it's not worth it. This was a complete waste of time.
A failed Boogeyman clone. That's what this movie WISHES it was.
I saw its low IMDB score before watching, but remained neutral, and thought I'd give it a try. I was not expecting a masterpiece, but was STILL disappointed.
For 3/4 of the time nothing happens, while the general tone and acting makes you feel depressed and bored, not scared.
(TRIGGER WARNING for people struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts!)
You don't care about any characters, they are lifeless to begin with. Probably poor acting or directing.
When the action finally kicks in (after 70 boring minutes!) it's random and makes no sense.
Finally the movie closes on a poor attempt at a plot twist (which was random and made no sense, again).
Not worth your time.

Don't waste your time, this is at the most a thriller, with some jump scares. If you absolutely love a movie that ends in a huge cliff hanger with a lot of questions to be answered and frankly makes no sense on how it ended go ahead and waste your time.
After watching this 2020 movie "You're Not Alone", I kind of wish that I were alone. This movie was not great, let's not beat around the bush.
I sat down to watch "You're Not Alone" from writer Andrew Wong and director Eduardo Rodriguez because the movie was labeled as a horror movie, and also because the cover/poster for the movie was actually interesting.
Well, turns out that this was more of a thriller than it was a horror movie, so I was somewhat disillusioned with the movie and I felt bereft of a horror experience. I can see that IMDb also has the movie labeled as a thriller and a mystery.
The storyline told in "You're Not Alone" was just rubbish in my opinion. Writer Andrew Wong brought nothing new to the cinema with this 2020 movie. In fact, everything that transpired in this movie had been seen before in other similar movies, so it made for a very stale movie experience, especially since the other - and older - movies fared better than this 2020 movie did.
The acting in the movie was adequate. Well, it was not great, but nor were it all that bad. But taking into consideration the limitation imposed by the lack of a proper script and storyline, then I think the actors and actresses were doing adequately enough. The characters, however, well don't get your hopes up here, because they were bland, uninteresting and just too generic.
In fact, as the movie ended, I was left with an overwhelming sensation of 'was that really it?'. So, I can't really claim to be impressed nor overly entertained by "You're Not Alone".
My rating of this 2020 thriller lands on a mere three out of ten stars. If you enjoy thrillers, give "You're Not Alone" a wide berth, because there are far, far better thrillers readily available out there.

That's what this film is, nothing more, nothing less. The final twist (I won't reveal it) has nothing to do with what has been narrated for more than 75 minutes and on top of that it is left without explanation, because some people believe that open endings are the best, I'm one of those people, but as long as there is a motivation that is not found here.
The development of the characters can be improved, the house, which has its point, is totally wasted and the flashbacks bring nothing but confusion.
Katia Winter's performance is far above the film.
A product that our mind will discard for self-defence.
