What started out as a good concept and an interesting plot turned into something boring, tedious and sad.
As if this wasn't enough, the soundtrack half way throught the film (viewed on Amazon Prime) became loud, drowning out the dialog, roughly about the time the storyline started to fall apart.
A waste of talent & casting, why introduce characters if you're not going to use them?
This movie could have been real good, but derailed shortly after the concept got put into place.
On a final note regarding the rating tally, how do 4 reviews (38/40) equal 5 stars, or did no one bother to write a review?

"Love Type D" is a delightful and heartwarming independent romantic comedy that follows the journey a young woman who discovers that she is genetically predisposed to being unlucky in love.
At first, Emma is devastated by this revelation and feels like she is doomed to a life of romantic failure. But with the help of her quirky and lovable group of friends, she starts to embrace her unique traits and learns to embrace the unpredictable nature of love.
The film's script is clever and well-written, with plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments. It also tackles some deeper themes about the importance of self-acceptance and the unpredictable nature of love, which adds depth and emotional resonance to the story.
Overall, "Love Type D" is a charming and poignant film that will leave you feeling uplifted and hopeful about the unpredictable journey of finding love.

I am not usually the audience for Rom Coms but this one was a little different, the writing and directing had an Indie feel, which I love, and the production values were really satisfying, fantastic score/music choices, and charming cast. And fun to see London!
IN A NUTSHELL:
Thanks to Vertical Entertainment, I was able to watch a press screener of this cute British romantic comedy that takes a look at relationships. It asks "How can someone love you yesterday and not today?" Shortly after her boyfriend sends his 12-year-old brother to break the news that she's dumped, Frankie Browne discovers that she has a loser-in-love gene. The gene guarantees that every man she goes out with will inevitably break up with her. Facing a lifetime of romantic failure, Frankie turns to the only genetics expert she knows: her former nemesis, Wilbur, a schoolboy science prodigy. Wilbur develops a maverick theory to reverse her romantic fortunes that sets into motion an unexpected and comic journey into Frankie's past of questionable romantic choices. LOVE TYPE D stars Maeve Dermody, Rory Stroud, Oliver Farnworth, and Tovah Feldshuh. It was written and directed by first-time filmmaker Sasha Collington.
THINGS I LIKED: I had never seen Maeve Dermody in anything before and could see a little bit of Emily Blunt in her. I thought she did a great job in her role, even though she is depressed and mopey for most of the movie.
I didn't recognize any of the British actors. The only person I knew in the entire movie was the American actress Tovah Feldshuh. Rory Stroud, the young actor who plays Wilber is a true stand-out!
I thought it was sweet that a couple with Down Syndrome was included in the montage of other couples in the introduction of the film.
There are some really funny moments, as well as subtle ones. The British sense of humor is somewhat different from the American humor, but I found plenty of things to laugh at. I could see an American remake of this rom-com being made with bigger movie stars.
Fun fact: They say it only takes 3.8 seconds for people to fall in love.
There's a light and bouncy soundtrack.
It's a clever premise that there would be a genetic code for personality and love types that could be tested for.
You get to see a few nice views of London.
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: At the 45-minute mark, the movie takes a very different twist and the tone changes.
The ending was cute but I would have liked a teaser about another romantic relationship to conquer.
It doesn't make any logical sense that a person with the "Dumped" gene could inherit the gene because that gene suggests the ancestor wasn't able to find love and have children!
TIPS FOR PARENTS: Some British words like "wenker".
Lesbians are portrayed.
Talk of premarital relations

Very funny and also quite cleverly made. There are so many wonderful characters that you'll end up loving. Not sure which one will be your favourite, but mine is the kid!
About a lady who always gets dumped and is trying to figure out why. She's not the only one though, so we get to know quite a few "unlucky in love" ones. I guess you can call it an anti rom com.
I saw the movie with several of my friends (both male and female), and they all were raving about it after.
