Schemers

Loved this film! Starts with a bang - fast paced with proper laugh out loud moments. Whole film has a warm feel to it. You really care about the lads the baddies pack a mean punch! A real gem of a film - my pick of this year's Edinburgh Film Fest.

As an actor when you appear in something it's very difficult to be objective. At the premier you sit there just preying your scenes are ok. But this time it's different. I genuinely forgot I'm in Schemers. I loved it. I laughed in all the right places. It's so good I genuinely forgot I'm in it! Schemers strength is its characters, It's situations, the brilliant tale of Dave McLean played wonderfully by the outstanding Conor Berry. But the real star of this gem of a movie is Dundee itself. A unique place with a humour and charm all it's own. I am Biased but I loved this movie. It sold out at its premier and all I heard was laughter and excitement. So proud of this wonderful movie.

I saw this randomly after missing another film at the cinema and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The acting is convincing, the setting of a bleak 80's Scotland felt very genuine and it moves at a great pace. There's some good laughs in there and the historical context really brings it all together. A good watch for a rainy day, worth your time!

Love going to local film festivals and finding a gem. Unfortunately this is not one of them.

Not original story, not much to hold you to the film and the acting was so bad.

Could not understand a word. Ive seen a lot of Scottish films but this is the 1st time that some of it really needed to have subtitles. Its not the accent, it seems to be the actors just mumbling along.

Some great shots and location seems to fit the time line that's the only positives I can give.

In short not worth seeing.

I do wish this yesteryear practice of getting your friends to 'review' your film would stop. No one but no one can think this is 10/10..It's complete rubbish. The truth,[oh that, is there is zero story being told here, and considering Davie in real life has so many stories to tell, that's the tragedy of this horror. It has it all, bad editing, a dirty lens, I kid you not, and barley any errrr music in it. Had they of made a documentary then it could of been really something. But like everything in the music biz, that would only upset the hand that feeds.
