Schemers

Very disappointed with this film. Read the hype and thought it had potential. However, poor acting poor accents and a pretty rubbish film. Watched it to see Dundee which was the only good thing about the film. More research should have been done as the language used was not typical Dundonian. Spent half the time watching it laughing at the accents and poor acting. Not a great film rather disappointing.

Only my second film ive seen since cinemas reopened. Was very disappointed i chose to see this. Was interesting to see Dundee in film but it does nothing apart from that. It was amateurish acting and very over the top accents that ive only every heard the homeless drunks in town talk like. I wish i could say i liked this but i just cant fond anything about it i liked. I heard a few laughs from others seated behind me but think that was at the dreadful dialogue.

I saw this randomly after missing another film at the cinema and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The acting is convincing, the setting of a bleak 80's Scotland felt very genuine and it moves at a great pace. There's some good laughs in there and the historical context really brings it all together. A good watch for a rainy day, worth your time!

As an actor when you appear in something it's very difficult to be objective. At the premier you sit there just preying your scenes are ok. But this time it's different. I genuinely forgot I'm in Schemers. I loved it. I laughed in all the right places. It's so good I genuinely forgot I'm in it! Schemers strength is its characters, It's situations, the brilliant tale of Dave McLean played wonderfully by the outstanding Conor Berry. But the real star of this gem of a movie is Dundee itself. A unique place with a humour and charm all it's own. I am Biased but I loved this movie. It sold out at its premier and all I heard was laughter and excitement. So proud of this wonderful movie.

Which I was not aware of when watching the film, which was funny as I thought the script was a bit far fetched!
