Solange ich atme

This film tells the story of a man who contracted polio while in Africa in 1950's. He became completely paralysed from neck down, and was given six months to live by the doctors. With the support of his pregnant wife and his many friends, he breaks all confines and expectations imposed on him.

I cannot quite imagine that the wheelchair is only such a recent invention! For something that is so vital and integral to modern day health care, it is a shock to me that it was only so recently that Cavendish came up with this transformative idea. The story is very touching. It is great that he had the support of so many loving people, which gave him the power to live and inspire and transform the lives of others. The technical aspects of this film is great as well. The scene in the German hospital is unbelievably effective, and provokes people to think what exactly is good for disabled people. The ending is very powerful, and it is augmented by the fact that it gives time for the profound events to set in. I really enjoyed this film. It is a truly touching film that makes you examine what you have in life.

Breathe is an inspiring and heartwarming story about a man diagnosed with the disease that forever changed his life and the lives of people around him. It is impossible to imagine being trapped in your own body and still somehow stay positive, motivated and change the lives of the people who are equally unfortunate..

Claire Foy and Andrew Garfield did a great job, as well as the supporting cast. The film could maybe have a bigger emotional impact and leave viewers with a bit more after watching it. Breathe is still a solid film with nice photography, pace and the story itself.

Recommended to everyone who like drama film, love stories and films about the triumph of the human spirit.

I truly enjoyed this film that I saw at TIFF. Apparently a lot of critics were expecting something grittier from Andy Serkis. Jonathan and Diana Cavendish are 100% behind this film and I DO believe that what is shown is true. Perhaps some critics wanted more darkness, but I do believe with these peoples' zest for life, they didn't allow much darkness to cloud their love and triumph.

I believe that Robin, Diana, and Jonathan enjoyed their time together as much as humanly possible. It is a love letter, a tale of triumph over adversity, and most of all it is a wonderful love story. Sometimes there IS more light than darkness. Especially when you have talent like Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy. Both are excellent in their roles, allowing me to completely immerse myself in this uplifting story.

I loved this movie. I was impressed by the acting skills of Andrew Garfield, totally believable. Claire Foy did a great job too, I think she's a very good actress, I have to admit that at times I found it difficult to not see Queen Elisabeth in her.

The story line was a bit rushed though, their relationship didn't really develop on the screen and for me it was hard to believe she really loved him in the very beginning of the film. But towards the end it was totally believable. One thing I missed was a great score, the music was almost absent, they should have asked Rachel Portman for the soundtrack (Never Let Me Go). But hey, that's just my opinion.

I shed some tears at the end.. It's a story about true love! Go watch it, you won't regret it!

Not perfect but pretty damn close to perfection .

I've said it before the best films are based on real events . Andy Garfield deserves the best actor Oscar . This one will make you laugh , cry and smile .

One man's fight for survival against the odds with the loving support of his wife and son who incidentally produced the film .

Excellent casting , acting and directing by Serkis . Beautiful photography a film that ought to be depressing was actually somewhat uplifting and you'll want to see it again and look up the real story .

A British cinematic masterpiece worthy of an Oscar nomination.
