I finished the game on PS5 today and although I really enjoyed the game overall, I think they could have made it much better.
First of all there are a lot of bugs in this game. Not some small bugs but really game breaking bugs that keep you from processing in the game.
I have managed to succeed at some parts of the game just because it was glitched.
Second there is a lack of enemies, Abe's Odyssey (or New n Tasty) had a much more variety with the enemies.
Last thing is the story, although it is a typical Oddworld game with some humour, still the story was too basic in my opinion.
Good game to play for free, but I still prefer the first game.

Very enjoyable, mind frenzying and difficult at times. Much like its predecessors you'll swear and shake the controllers in the air, and almost give up... only to make it.
I will say that the game can be quite buggy at points. Some Mudokons can't be rescued due to software bugs. I haven't played it since the latest update so it might be fixed.
A thrilling nostalgia ride, I do wish that there was more of the outside world in it. New n' Tasty captured some of the vastness in Oddysee. Would have been nice to have that feeling of vastness in Soulstorm... it gets repetitive in parts due to repeating pipes etc.

Loved, loved, loved the original Oddworld games.
Difficult but rewarding. Beautiful graphics. Great gameplay and engrossing story.
This new iteration 'Soulstorm' sadly has dropped the ball in one major area...... it's 'unfairly' difficult, to the point that I finally just gave up on it after trying the final level about 100 times.
I'm all for a challenge (it's one of the great aspects of the originals) but the creators got the balance waaaayyy off on this one.
Such a shame.

And Yes Even To Those Who Never Played The Oddworld Series Since The PS2 I Highely Recommended Everyone To Try And Play This Amazing Game!👍🏼
The few improvements in this second entry of the next gen Oddworlds are better graphics, the crafting system and maybe the plot.
The graphics are actually impressive, especially during the cutscenes; the crafting adds depth to the game, even though some items are redundant are rarely used; finally the plot thickens, or better, promises to thicken. If you are a fan of the series and gladly withstand the slowness of the cutscenes, you'll be rewarded at the end with some hints to future developments in a possible sequel.
Unfortunately the game is quite frustrating due to clumsy controls and glitches here and there, which become infuriating if you are trying to get the platinum trophy.
