A tour guide. UFO fans. A field. And the answer to a dispute. And, sure, a driver . The film has the admirable gift to ironize, in wise manner, cliches. And it does that step by step in a short film who gives only a seductive demonstration of humor more than a story. The second virtue - it reminds animation films. And the authors of strange circles are the exact answer who you expect from the first scene. So, just lovely.

Short films of this caliber are rare, so I was thrilled to stumble upon Cropped, a sci-fi comedy short film with a runtime of just five minutes. There are many positives worth mentioning about this film.

First, the acting is absolutely stellar across the board. Despite introducing a handful of characters within a short timeframe, each one is lovable and humorous in their own way, and the actors play their roles flawlessly.

Second, the humor in this short film is delightfully twisted and had me laughing out loud several times. It's a testament to great comedy and spot-on casting. From something as simple as a bumpy crop circle tour to the quirky, twisted characters, this film has it all.

Third, the film feels like a professionally-made, full-length movie rather than a short story. It's almost shocking-and certainly disappointing-that it ends so quickly.

Fourth, the cinematography is excellent. Everything looks far better than you'd expect from a short film of this kind.

All in all, Cropped is probably one of the best uses of five minutes I've ever seen in a short film.
