Vampires in New Orleans, whats not to like?

Movie opens with cops & an investigation that leads them to the Vamp hangout. There is a real loose and bad storyline that unfolds. The movie description talks of a "Vampire War" which there isnt. What there is, is a power struggle between 2 families. The agression is brought on by cop and one female vampire.

I like low budget and dont mind so so acting, but the sound mixing in this movie is horribile.

The camera work & scene location is good, the directing marginal, the writing is extremely weak.

About 2/3 into the movie the look changes alittle and it has a real bad cheesy Full Moon Productions look to it. Hey, thats ok, i like Full Moon.

The entertainment value is there, visually not bad. Its hard to watch late nght as you will be up and down on the volume. I wouldn't recommed this movie & certainly would not rewatch it. I collect movies, i prefer to see one that has me buying the Blu Ray, even before its over.

Pretty decent special effects for its medium budget, and quite captivating some parts. Like,it catches you a bit, but still a huge POOR WRITING. Chaotic and confusing most of the time, it starts differently, it ends differently. Will still confuse you in some parts. The idea and concept of vampires was great and had an actually great potential, but too rushed, I could say. It's a "meh" in general,only if you accidentally come across it on TV,(like I did) it'll catch you a little, otherwise it's not really worth it.

I watched the movie Nocturna (2015) last night and I was pleasantly surprised. Two vampire families fighting for the supremacy of New Orleans. Each having their own way of survival and both being around for centuries. The plot was easy to follow. Wow! A horror film with a plot.

The camera work was good. Most scenes were at night, but you could clearly see every detail. One detail in particular, the children being held captive in their little cages.

The film's greatest strength was it made me think the two main characters, Harry and Lydia, were real people who just happen to devour blood for survival. I like how it ended with a sacrifice and the possibility of a new love connection with Harry's partner Cody. I can easily see the sequel in this ending.

I give this movie great marks because it was different from all of the other ones in this genre. Good Show! Well written!
