Homebound

Started mildly interesting and went downhill from there. I love a slow urn character study horror but this had no real story, no character growth, nothing happened and the. It ends with no resolution or explanation.

I strongly feel someone had a great idea but insufficient writing skill to turn it into a cohesive story' as this was just worthless.

This was the stupidest movie I've ever saw it makes no sense. It doesn't have a point we never see the mother or find out what happened to her. The movie come on like this is going to be good but nope it's horrible and a waste of acting I give --13 stars for this. It was wrote and shot over night!!! We didn't understand the father, the kids, the plot lol nothing made sense in this movie at all. It was t scary what so ever because it was so dam dumb you will try to figure it out and just give up and wish you would have just watched something else. Save your popcorn and hot dog for another movie.

I had no idea what I was in for here when I sat down to watch the 2021 horror mystery from writer and director Sebastian Godwin. But it being a horror movie, of course, that I hadn't already seen, then I had to sit down and watch it. Of course I did.

Well, I can honestly say that "Homebound" provided me with no entertainment. The storyline told in the movie, as written by Sebastian Godwin, was just not within the scopes of my liking. So it was a very tedious and difficult movie to sit through, especially when taking no enjoyment from the viewing.

There was nothing scary about "Homebound", well aside from how boring the movie was. So for a horror movie, then "Homebound" was a swing and a miss. Sure, if you are entirely new to the horror genre, then I suppose there might be something scary about "Homebound". But for a seasoned horror veteran, then director Sebastian Godwin just simply didn't rise to the task at hand.

The acting performances in the movie were bland. But I believe this to be because that the actors and actresses had so very little to work with in terms of a properly functioning script, and also having to portray one-dimensional characters just didn't help to make the performers shine.

If you enjoy a good horror movie, then "Homebound" is not the best of choices. I wouldn't recommend you wasting your time, money or effort on this movie.

Homebound: Interesting horror film if a bit flawed. Had the feel of a Shirley Jackson tale crossed with The Turn of the Screw A newly married couple, Holly (Aisling Loftus) and Richard (Tom Goodman-Hill) head to the country to meet Richard's ex-wife Nina and children. When they arrive at the stately pile they find that Nina has gone away for a few days so just Richard's teen son, Ralph ( Lukas Rolfe) and daughter Lucia (Hattie Gotobed), along with the younger daughter Anna (Raffiella Chapman) are there to greet them. Richard's mood swings along with the children'e increasingly erratic, even violent behaviour makes Holly feel uneasy. Actually she should have ran away there were so many warning lights flashing. This is a dark, disturbing film, the sprawling old house with it's creepy basement and myriad stairs and corridors adds to the Gothic feel. The violence and threat of violence are very real for most of Homebound. Even in the early scenes Richard cajoles Lucia into breaking the neck of the duck rhey will have for dinner. Richard's later actions suggest that we are dealing with a seriously dysfunctional family. Some reviewers have found the ending unsatisfactory, it is open to a few interpretations though,.also the narrative seems undertold with a 71 minute running time. There is some impressive acting though, especially from the young actors. Written and Directed by Sebastian Godwin. 7/10.

Why Is This Horror? Thriller Is More Like It, Mmm, It's Not That Bad But Really, You Shouldn't Expect Much And There's a Young Actress In The Film Named "Hattie Gotobed" Well This Movie Should Have Went To Bed And Stayed In Bed And Never Ever Get Up Out Of Bed Again, Nawl, Really Mediocre From Start To Finish!
