Outlast 2

After I finished the outlast and the dlc I headed into this and well,it's a breathtaking horror game,the jumpscares are expectable but still scary! Only one big problem that one isn't enjoyable like the first two,so sorry red barrels,only 7/10

I will begin my review like I always do, with an anecdote:

It takes places a year ago, after I finished reading Stephen King's It; and during the time I was reading it, it mentioned the Jonestown massacre (the one that took placed on Guyana, during the mid 70's). I had heard of this tragic event, from other sources, such as Spanish videos of cults by Angel David Revilla ''Dross"; and after of it, my curiosity grow and decided to search some information related to the tragedy... I end up shocked...two years later, 2023, some months ago I finished playing Outlast (the first one); I found out a little while later that there was a sequel (Outlast 2).

All a can say, to make all of this short is:

Outlast 2 is much more extreme than the first one, you will love it, but at the expense of you sanity (of course, that is an exaggeration), but if you don't mind a bit of masochism; than play it...You had been warned.

I used to hate this game, mainly bc I didn't understand it. But now I've played it multiple times and finally understood it to fully appreciate it. It's a masterpiece and an example of how sometimes brilliance is misunderstood. Every thing, literally everything about this game is well made. I owe Red Barrels an apology for dragging this game, it deserves more love and recognition.

I played this game for the first time a long time ago, I hated it and left me disappointed, maybe because it didn't live up with the first game. But now I got the chance to play it again, and now I understand it.

Outlast II is a bloody, gory, controversial, messed up and disturbed work of pure art. Very effortlessly, Red Barrels just have the power of horror to create a masterful horror story. Of course the story in the first Outlast is better, the characters at some point are better, but that's not the point.

The story writing was incredible, extremely complex and very mature in both storytelling and narrative design. The soundtrack and the sound effects added more to the experience its eerie aesthetics. The setting is on point, both Temple Gate and the School locations are amazingly designed. The graphics and the visuals are insane, these graphics are basically one of the best things I've ever seen in a video game, truly impressive and visually stunning.

Overall, Outlast II is not for everyone. If you're looking for fun stuff this may not be for you. This game will make you terrorized, stressed out, weirded out, disturbed and maybe traumatized.

Unforgettable experience, Highly recommended 100%.

This game is a classic in the horror video game genre,i don't even know why some people here are giving it a bad review..look dont expect it to be like the first one which is also a master piece,dont compare the two because we know its hard to beat a first release practicly in most franchises and Red Barrel wasnt aiming to top the first one,it was aiming to give fans a different story and perspective from the first one of which they did very well.
