Zhigrana

I originally live in Thailand and i am Thai. I was visiting Nepal to see my Nepali Friends. They took me to see this movie telling me that this is the first movie they made in an international level. I wasn't expecting much out of it but i must say i was very surprised. This was suspense thriller movie and there were a lot of places that the movie made me jump. The movie was full of suspense and till the end i was guessing who the killer is. The cinematography and the sound was excellent. It was amazing how a German girl was acting by speaking Nepal...wish i could speak Nepali like her. I recommend this movie to everyone, especially if you like suspense and if you like foreign films. This was my firs Nepali movie and i loved it.

Good movie with a scientific approach!! 4 stars out of 5.... However, ending was concluded in a hurry!!!Could have carry on with the suspense a bit longer....anyways nice Nepali movie to watch #Zhigrana.....Ram in the movie was good!! I think all the actors did very well and didn't overact at all and all characters were justified. This is the first time i've seen production design in Nepali film industry to this caliber. A break through movie in kollywood in all categories, beautifully executed on the technical, amazing cinematography and a heart wrenching suspense thriller. Sabaijana dherai tarseko le tapaiko company ko naam change garera "Golden Khyak'' rakhne ho ki. A must watch for everyone from Nepal.

First of it's kind movie in Nepal. It has everything a movie goers love to see on a good movie.The suspense and scary scenes are directed very well.The whole team of cast has done a superb job.This is one movie which we can easily compare with other international movies.Also multicultural casts makes movie more interesting.I can proudly say hats off to the director and the whole team for taking Nepali movie in to different heights. Would love to see more Nepali movies of same standard.This movie could be a turning point for the whole of Nepali cinema industry as ways to improve on all aspects of movie.So i was really delighted to see this movie..which sure is a first of it's kind Nepali movie.

I am not a big fan of Nepali movie or even bollywood movies...lately, Kollywood has taken a giant leap as far as the production standards.

I Think Zhigrana team has shown us the same as far as Nepal goes...I can see light at the end of the tunnel after all.

A completely new Genre for the Nepal movie critics,it is one of it"s kind..I Would say a big leap for Nepali movie industry...the story line and the cinematography brilliantly done.I would say keeps you glued to your seats till the end. I am glad kollywood is heading somewhere..beats all the cheesy love story. If it can prove a guy like me wrong..i highly recommend all Nepalese to watch this movie..

I haven't written a movie review ever. However, after watching the movie Raghav, I had this urge to review the movie. The reason being that, I want as many people as possible to watch and enjoy the uniqueness that it has to offer. The movie night was organized/screened by Nepali Students Association (NSA) at Minnesota State University Moorhead, USA. It is always a great day to try something new, so here I am with my review on the movie. Please deal with the fact of it being as amateur as it can be. (:

Raghav has been the most awaited movie in different parts of the United States as the promotions kicked off almost a year ago. What stands out most about the movie is its story. Director and storyteller Bhupendra Bhattarai, has skillfully captured the lives of all the Nepalese people chasing their dreams, staying abroad. It's hard to tell that the movie is his directorial debut. Being an undergrad, majoring in Film Studies, kudos to the effort he has put in his very first movie. Also while carrying out the promotions, he rightfully chose the target audience to be people living abroad and especially the young college kids in United States.

So, as I was saying, Raghav revolves around the story of a young boy, Raghav, living in the United States and all the ups and downs he goes through in life. The story depicts the different stressful situation he comes across which juggles between his family, long distance relationship, work and studies, time management, and the list continues. What he goes through in life is pretty much what each one of us go through - people who are studying and living abroad. The story is down to earth and there isn't any part that you would feel has been exaggerated. It shuns the mainstream "masaledaar" item numbers and action scenes and the simplicity and reality is what it makes it different from the usual.

The actors in the movie are newbies, completely fresh to the glamor world. Having said that though, they have all done justice to their roles. Actor Shibir Pokharel's (Raghav in the movie) cuteness will definitely get you stuck on your seat throughout the movie, just saying! I could personally relate to Asmita Dhakal (Aastha in the movie) who depicts a modern day woman who doesn't really care about what other people think about her. She also happens to be my personal favorite character from the movie. Rocken Byanjankar (Swapnil in the movie), Ashishma Nakarmi (Nisha in the movie) and Kait Brasel (Kylie in the movie) have also put in outstanding performance in the movie. The movie would have been different without these characters as the movie goes in depth about all these character's stories that revolves around Raghav's character.
