Despite of not understanding a single word from the Turkish language, my entire family from 8 year old till my father 77 years old watches this on Netflix with great passion. After watching one episode by mistake, we now don't watch anything else on TV. Amazing cast, direction & story on this master piece. Love it!!
Basically, Murdoch goes to Istanbul but with fewer forensics and a LOT more "acupuncture."
The first season is an entertaining romp, but season 2 is starting to "lose it." Reminds me of how much fun the first Pirates of the Caribbean was, but then the franchise started to get mired down in cliches and poor plot development.
This group of assassins they created, training with Greco-Roman weapons and funky haircuts, looks too much like Conan the Barbarian or a B-grade video game.
We are fast-forwarding episodes now in Netflix, something we never did in Season 1. Not sure if season 2 can keep my interest through another 70 episodes.
My rating is for Season 1 only.
Since it got started in December, I have become a regular follower of Filinta. With its special effects that we have never seen before on TV, successful actors and scenario of good quality, Filinta made a huge breakthrough in Turkey. It is known that Turkish people love detective stories - even some Sultans were fan of it! - and Ottoman touch wouldn't have been better on those stories. I definitely recommend it. I also want to say something about Mehmet Ozgur in role of Kadi Giyaseddin Hatemi. He appears as the mayor of Galata district and also tutor of Filinta Mustafa. What I like about him is that he gives messages showing the good side of Turkish culture with a short scene in each episode. For instance, during the days of a university student girl - Ozgecan Aslan - was raped and murdered by two men, Kadi Giyaseddin had a scene saying that treating women bad is unacceptable. Of course he bases his arguments on Islam but I find him as a very powerful character in that sense.
I've watched 40 episodes of this series..Filinta
Also Ertugrul Reformation (great) 170 episodes
Also Magnificen Century 100 episodes (good)
The main distraction in all these drama's is the BURNING oil lanterns.. How did they keep the fires going I never see any attendance,
Addicted to Turkish drama....Love the horse scenes Robin Morton ,...Kila,MT 2018

For many years we - as Turkish television viewers - have been suffering from TV series full of drama, endless love scenes, fake acting and bad scenarios that repeat themselves.
Filinta, on the contrary, is like a fresh breath on Turkish television. The action scenes are very professional that I've never seen such on another series. Normally if a Turkish TV series becomes popular, the scenario gets extended by the same incidents until the viewers get bored. But in each episode of Filinta there is always a different case that the characters should solve. I don't think that I will ever get bored of this TV series.
In my opinion, Filinta has done what is not done before and this makes it special. The leading actor, Onur Tuna, is beyond my expectations. Maybe he wasn't well known before Filinta but I am sure that he will be now. Other actors are also very successful. I thank all of them for giving us this TV series of good quality.

- PatzerFilinta's revolver as shown in the opening credits and used in the series, would not be able to work as powerfully as is shown. There is a gap of at least 1/8" between the front of the cylinder and the breach of the barrel. The gases used to propel the bullet through the barrel would nearly all go out through the sides after it left the cylinder leaving very little power to get the bullet out of the barrel.
