14 years later Joe Dirte (as he likes to call himself) is going through another saga. He married the love of his life, Brandy (Brittany Daniel), and they had triplets (three daughters: Dakota, Cheyenne, and Abilene). Everything was cool in the Dirt world until his daughters saw him being victimized by his coworkers (a fart joke that went waaaay too long). It was then that Joe Dirt figured he had to be different/better to gain the respect of his three little girls.
Joe Dirt was not in need of a sequel--but truthfully how many movies are in need of sequels? But considering the plethora of sequels out there--with the majority of them being awful--this wasn't too bad. David Spade had the same mannerisms, speech and gullibility of Joe Dirt. Brittany Daniels was still the gorgeous love interest. And even Christopher Walken reprised his role as Clem. That's where the parallels stop.
It was not quite as funny and that was really just the writing. It didn't have the same appeal, even the story wasn't as captivating. With all of that it was still entertaining enough.

"It's not 2015, it's 1965." Joe Dirt (Spade) has the perfect life. Beautiful wife, great kids and is happy, but still doesn't think he's good enough. After a tornado rips through his town Joe finds himself in the past. Trying to figure out how to get back home Joe realizes that this is his chance to change who he is and become the person he thinks his wife Brandy (Daniel) really wants. The more he tries to change the worse things get. This is a sequel that I'm not sure many people were asking for. That said it wasn't that bad. There was some funny stuff in this and was about the same type of humor, maybe a little more sappy, than the original. I do really like David Spade though. The movie was a mix of Forrest Gump, Wizard of Oz and It's A Wonderful Life all mixed with a redneck spin, and to me that actually helped it and was very fun to watch. This is nothing that will become a classic, and it would have bombed bad in theaters, but as far as a rental and watch at home movie you could do worse. I liked it and was entertained enough by it. Overall, if you liked the first one you will like this one too. I give it a B.
Really disappointed in this one.
Especially since they had all the original actors all they had to do was make a continuation of the last film make it simple and funny. The whole time travel thing was an absolutely horrible idea. Ruined what could have been a great sequel to an all time classic.
I bought this DVD accidentally thinking it was the original. Took me a while to figure out what I was watching. Though disappointed, I kept watching and had a couple belly laughs. Lots of dick & fart jokes with some gay humor mixed in ("I ain't no party boy") just to be extra offensive.
The plot, if you could call it that, is just a mish-mash of plots lifted from other movies: WIzard of Oz, Back to the Future, Cast Away, It's a Wonderful LIfe, etc.
The only part that hit me with emotional impact was when Joe was talking to young Lynyrd Skynyrd bandmates about the fame and fortune they'll experience in the future. Then one says, "We could buy our own airplane!" OUCH.

Horrible horrible horrible did I say horrible? I LOVED the original Joe Dirt with all my heart it was one my fav comedy movies of all time. This thing I couldn't wait for it to end.
First it just feels extremely cheap. You can immediately tell the budget for this movie was non existent compared to the other one. Second the jokes fell extremely flat and would only be amusing to someone smoking excessive amount of weed. Lastly this movie was actually 30 minutes to long there is no reason that this should clocked in at almost 2 hours.
Was so excited for this but ended up being disapointed.

- WissenswertesDavid Spade grew out his sideburns and facial hair for this movie. The original used his natural facial hair and synthetic hair glued on to look fuller.
- PatzerJoe meets the Galinda on the bench in present day, then recalls his story. In this story he ends his journey and meets her (for the first time as the story is in his past), finding out that she is a guardian angel. He recognizes her as the woman on the bench, but as this was the first time he had met her, he should have recognized her at the start of the movie as the guardian angel from the past.
