O Candidato Honesto

It had everything to be a tremendous movie of humor. More descended into the perverse way of national films. Much, much, much word. Black humor without grace jokes and low level of scenes that referred to the old and decaying former national cinema. A great shame this kind of unnecessary appeal. I asked my time with this movie.

When you think that we are evolving is a film of this and kill everything that fought until the moment. But what anyway. Do not we have the evolution of gift.

A failed attempt and misplaced to imitate the movie "Liar Liar" nothing more, nothing less than the Jean Carle. A disgrace to our so suffered daily. Total loss of time. Strongly discouraged.

The corrupt congressman João Ernesto Praxedes (Leandro Hassum) is the favorite in the dispute of the presidency of Brazil. His assessor Marcelinho (Victor Leal) is preparing him for the debate on the second round of the election and he is summoned to a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry in the Congress. When his grandmother is near death, João visits her and she curses him to be honest and always tell the truth. Now João has a big trouble since he needs to dispute the presidential election and respond the inquiry of the commission telling only the truth.

"O Candidato Honesto" is a funny comedy based on the Brazilian sad reality about politicians. Foreigners may believe that it is only a joke with politicians, but indeed this comedy depicts the behavior of most of Brazilian politicians. The character João Ernesto Praxedes is based on characteristics at least three Brazilian presidents. The plot uses the storyline of Jim Carrey's "Liar Liar" and the final speech of Al Pacino to John Cusack in "City Hall" in the corrupt Brazilian environment of politics. Leandro Hassum is a great comedian and has great performance. Unfortunately the conclusion is corny and moralist. My vote is seven.
