Sins of the Father

15-year old Kurt Michaels finds himself adopted by an abusive drunk who has a sick sense of how to raise his children.

If you are a fan or know of independent filmmaker, Matthew Winstead, then you know LoneWolf Productions is his baby. This is the first LoneWolf film....and it shows.

The camera-work is bad, and a lot of the acting is mediocre at best. However, what stands out here is the story.

Winstead has proven that what he lacks in quality, he makes up in story. The acting by Kurt Hill and Winstead himself are top notch and the only ones worth mentioning.

They help you believe the story that is being told and since it centers mostly around the two of them, it works.

Winstead created the fictional story using the real-life stories of Tobias Wolff, David Pelzer and Sylvia Likens.

While the film isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, and that's to be expected for a directorial debut, it introduces you to the world of the LoneWolf films and the cast members you will see repeatedly pop up in later films.
